After watching the pies yesterday I left the game frustrated. Here are my main points of frustration.

1) Rhyce Shaw showing plenty of dash and then not have the brains to slow down when he kicks. He tries kicking the ball at top speed and you very rarely see players like Bucks do that. They get the space and then balance before kicking. Not Rhyce.

2) Ben Johnson getting a ton of the ball and then not hitting targets.

3) But the one which drove me nuts the most was watching, Andrew Williams, Ryan Lonie and a couple others stand back and wait for some one else to dictate play. The Bulldogs got two goals out of a situation where Collingwood plpayers waited for each other to get the ball.

As a footballer, you should be saying, that ball is going to be mine and no one is going to stop me from getting it. It is a total mental approach that these guys are lacking. They let someone else dictate the game and they are happy to receive and not be match winners.

As far as the season goes, we have been written off as too slow or unskillful before but we always had a bit of heart. I am worried that we may not have it and need to do some hard yards to get it back.

Your third point is the only one woth mentioning and is a very important one. Our mindset is clearly not appropriate and if it is not fixed quick smart we are in for a long season. Leadership needs to be shown by our second tier players.

Skill errors by Shawry and Johnno?? Not a huge issue. Skills and quality of hands are always going to be slightly off early in the year. If our skills are still looking fairly ordinary 4 weeks in then we have a problem. It's just a matter getting used to the pressure of a real game.

Instead of bashing Shawry for his skill errors how about you give him a complement for putting his body on the line and for being one of the only blokes to play with heart. Maybe if some of the bloke further up the ground presented for him, he may have a better option to kick to.

I was actually quite impressed with Shaw. He showed some dash and although there were a couple of skill issues, that will come as he gets more matches in. Compared to some of the games I've seen him play, it was a good start for him.

Going to be frustrated a lot.

The pies are gone --again.

The thing that has stopped us winning grand finals or making finals the last 3 years is still here.

We have too many weak players who we should have delisted or traded and our good players go missing.

If you can honestly tell me why we keep, O'Bree, Williams. Shaw, Davis,Lokan,Coles when they all go missing whenever we need them, they fumble the ball and don't know what to do with it when they have it.

We will finish below 10th this year if we are lucky. When are we going to draft a bloody decent ruckmen with all the ones that have traded over the last 3 years.

I thought Shaw looked quick and actually did some great things. I enjoyed his sidestepping and his endevor was good. I didn't like they way that he did the good work and then when he is about 3 or 4 meters in the clear he kicks at top speed. Either people aren't talking to him or he doesn't yet have the poise.

You are right though, he did put his hand up and tried to dictate the game. More then Williams and Lonie ever looked like doing.

I agree with you entirely collingwood will be a bottom 4 side this year. we definately have to many players no up to it.e.g shaw, lonie, williams ect.
On shaw he did find a bit of the ball yesterday but he has no left foot and can't kick more than 20 metresl. the number of times he goes short to 50-50 contests is amazing.
Yesterday i was also disappointed with rocca's performance, looks slow and unfit.

stan? you should think before typin thats just dumb. we will be fine... eventually. got it ALL off the field so the pressure is on to perform ON the field it will come. just looks far off after the effort or lack of yesty

Williams and Lokan are the only 2 in that group that have shown nothing in recent times. Shaw and Cole have had huge pre-seasons and looked like they are poised for a big year, Davis showed a bit yesterday (kicking goals and generally providing a spark). There's not a lot Cole can do to influence the game when he's sitting in the dug-out.
