Statistically: Hudson
All round footballer: Dunstall
BTW, Doug Wade says hi.
That helps his average but doesn't it.. he never played as a veteran so his average is based on years in his prime and none on the decline.. same with Hudson.Coleman was the greatest ever and was finished at 25.
In 98 matches Coleman kicked a total of 537 career goals. He kicked 14 goals in a match on one occasion, 13 goals twice, 12 goals once, 11 goals twice, 10 goals six times, 9 goals 3 times, and 8 goals five times.
As do Coventry and Ablett Sr.
My choice from that group would be Locket with 1,360 goals.....the most of anyone.

Not to say they weren't absolute superstars but if you had your choice you'd be forced to pick someone with better longevity
I'd take Coleman in a heartbeat - knees can be fixed nowadays.
No guarantee he would have weathered veteran status as well as others though
If I wanted to win premierships I'd probably pick Dunstall.. McKenna and Hudson were very specialized to their era, Lockett like Hall was just as likely to be suspended when you needed him most and Lloyd is a joke inclusion

Ok more ludicrous than a joke, McKenna is in there when Collingwood's greatest full forward was Coventry and Lloyd is in when Essendon's greatest full forward was Coleman.. nup right the first time, gotta be a joke!Maybe an incorrect inclusion, but 920 goals is hardly a joke.
You do obviouslyColeman finished at 25, I dont think anyone seen his best, yet all those who seen him say he was the best they have ever seen, some say if Ablett was the best and Coleman was better, how do you paint a picture.
but who cares what you think, at the end of the day Coleman is full forward in the team of the century, and the goal kicking medal is named The Coleman Medal! many still say greatest ever player.

Lockett - was a power house of the comp even in poor teams.
The flogs naming Coleman need to have a look at themselves - 1. 98 games - longevity in the game has to be a factor 2. Unless you are 80 you never saw him play - just because your Great Grandmother said he was the best counts for little. It is like the storey of the 30cm flathead she caught in 1950 that has now turned into a 400kg Marlin over time.
5 league goalkicking awards, average of 5+ a game, best and fairest, 2 flags.
He did plenty.
Utterly unsurprising it's not Coventry, nor Wade or Lee you've taken issue with; but Coleman.
I think you need to see someone. You've got a fixation.
