And we shouldn't just focus on the premiership players; what about the ones who lost premierships like Taz and the Wiz. That's close enough for me, my darling — and close enough for you.
One day, my precious, you will have an entire premiership team and you won't have to go through all that humdrum business of actually winning it.
Did you know Robert Walls predicted you to finish third? He is going to be so cross with you when you don't. My poor baby, no one should ever put that much pressure on you. And did you know some crazy punter has put $100,000 on you to finish in the eight?
That makes me so mad. How dare anyone show that much faith in you?
Forget about Paul Roos and his wacko theories of no betting on pre-season games. I say, no betting on you, my purple pumpkin.
In fact, the best bet for the opening round is to stay away but as my mate Brendan Fevola says, rules are made to be broken.
So if you have to nibble this weekend, nibble on Freo at $2.20 to roll Collingwood and take St Kilda at $2.20 to get over the Swans by under 39.5 points and look at West Coast at that price with that margin against the Lions.
But remember, keep it lean and wait for round two.
Oh, and I bet ya Fev is the first captain of the Gold Coast Bears (that's presuming my sweet Freo doesn't get him first).
