I took little Drakeyv2 junior to the Crows Auskick Pie Night at the Shed yesterday evening.

By the time the doors opened the line to get in streched from the shed to Max Bashier Reserve & that was mostly parents as the kids were having a ball kicking the footys around. The place was packed with 5 to 9 year olds & it was a great evening.

From what I saw the club should be very happy with its drive for young supporters.

For the record the most popular players seemed to be the Roo, Macca and a new favourite, Trent Potential.

On Friday night I was suprised by the number of kids I saw wearing 5 or 25.

I'm basing my favourites list on the roar they got when they were introduced to the crowd.

The funnyest thing on the night was that the players were seated at tables in groups of about 5 around the walls of the shed to sign autographs. Neil Craig had to stand in the middle of the room & use a green wheely bin as a table to sign his autographs.

Gee we really know how to spoil the coach.

I dont really think the club will need to work all that hard. I have two young crows fans, my brother has 2 more and my sister has 2 and one on the way. They will either be Crow fans or they wont be going to the footy at all! Na, seriosly the vast majority of Crow supporters children will follow in the parents footsteps with out much convincing. Only a very small minority of family black sheep will end up wandering off the straight and narrow down to Alberton.

Its great to see the club making the effort though.:thumbsu:
