I checked out the coaches votes and saw that Fyfe is now top 5. I know there is a lot of love for him here and it doesn't need anymore hype, but what is amazing is that he has done this without getting a perfect score. Instead he is ultra consistent and been one of the best on ground in 9 of our 13 matches which I think is just as impressive as his ability to dominate.

So good how he is getting recognised for how good he is. Marks like a FF, gathers possies like a ruck rover and kicks goals like a small forward. Absolute Jet.

First word that came to my mind as well.. hard to believe its his second year, and he is playing in a skeleton of reasonable side. Should make the initial AA squad at the moment, whether he makes it further than that..

I have a special request for PB29. At the end of this season, could we please have a Fyfe highlights package? :p

I'm already working on something special for my buddy... D/L games to my Pc and chopping up te Fyfe highlights.
The blind handballs... The fantastic goals... The runs down the wing... And of course the speckies!

With his level of consistency, and clear respect that he gets from the opposition coaches, it is a surprise that he hasn't copped more attention. I guess teams would rather tag Hill, as he has the potential to be more damaging.

Re this, I heard an interview with one of the Brisbane players or coaches (I forget who), pre game, and he said that because Fyfe plays well when we win, and well when we lose, he's not worth tagging. ie they would tag someone who tends to be kept quiet in games we lose.

I think Hill is the main target.

It's pretty funny how people try and drag him down with his kicking and say they wouldn't want him in their team because he can't kick.. Nobody's denying it but top 5 in the coaches votes doesn't lie.

the thing is though, that he CAN kick. he may not have a stephen hill bullet, but he rarely makes skill errors and his kicking for goal is superb, mayney should watch him

Daniel Wells was in the exact same situation Hill is in.

High draft pick outside player who is extremely damaging but could never handle a tag.

Now that he can he is awsome.

Carn Hilly.

Pretty amazing effort, especially with his shoulder the way it has been popping out.
No one can question his courage or desire.
Gun.

Yep.

Also has the biggest will to win. Consistently lifts and impacts the game when we are struggling.

Gun. And Captain material.

I reckon they might have tried tommo, but Fyfe's like a kelpie: he runs all day to get his own ball.

He does cop attention from the opposition. The thing is, Fyfe has the footy smarts to make space and win the contested footy.

Its kind of a plus as well if an opposition tags him, as he needs a step ladder to take his extrordinary speccies... ;)

Isn't the third year normally a breakout year? How do you breakout from already being elite?

also, fyfes contested marking makes it difficult for runwith players to stop him whereas his running ability makes it difficult for spoiling defenders. Imo hilly has done a bit of work on his overhead game too, but is a completely different type of player to fyfe

I have said this many times, he tries harder than just about anyone else in the team and out runs everyone in the last quarter.

I really can't wait to see Mundy, Fyfe, Barlow, Morabito, Hill in the midfield all together.
