id put money on adeliade for the flag but im not a betting person,

but of what ive seen they way they chew up and spit out teams atm is scary and unless something drastic happens between now and september pencil you guys in for the flag (hate to say), but dont pencil essendon for the spoon, dont write us off yet 15th here we come!

TY for that its appreciated.:thumbsu:

Theres 7 weeks to prepare for 1 month of do or die footy, anything could happen and generally does.

The thing in our favour is the quality, experienced hard players to return.:thumbsu:

And I admire your club in what they are trying to teach the young uns, positive footy:thumbsu:

Remember ya still gotta play the grandfinal in Melbourne, and possibly against a melbourne based team which could just ruin your party!!!!

It's actually Adelaide water. Makes you big and strong. We can ship some over to you if you want some. Send me your details, and I'll get back to you. :)

cant be the water cause ive been there and it tastes awful, must be all the practise from beating the hell out of port players (example pub brawl few years back)

Two things..

Firstly, the grand final is still 11 weeks away and a lot can happen in that time. The disappointment of getting spat out of the finals last year, following our defeat at home by St Kilda, is still a burning memory. Nobody here is counting their chickens until they are well and truly hatched.

Secondly, I think Melbourne are a significant threat. I expect them to knock West Coast out of 2nd spot by the end of the H&A rounds. That would then give them the direct passage through to the Grand Final. Given how close our R3 encounter was, on neutral ground, combined with the fact that both teams have improved since then, I reckon it would be one of the great Grand Finals.

10 wins out of their last 11 shows they're in red hot form.

Just like Adelaide was almost a sure thing come round 22 last season when they won teh minor premiership right ? Look what happened there. Never even made the grand final.

it's anyones flag still, out of the top 10-11 teams I think. No 1 is a certainty and never will be

I don't think many sane people would have considered Adelaide a "certainty" for the premiership last season. Nonetheless, I agree it's way too early to be planning ticker-tape parades through the centre of the city.

We have played TWO Melbourne based teams there in Grand Finals for TWO wins.

Do you think this team would be able stop the bulldogs or demons in the granny at the g, these two teams have an outstanding record at the g this year!!!!

Who cares? Dogs wont make it.. too many key injuries and they arent good enough this year. Demons we can handle.

Crows can beat anyone, anywhere, anytime. Of course the Crows can beat the dogs or dees at the G for goodness sake sssssssstudly.

Interesting given the only Victorian based sides ever to win a GF against a non-Victorian side were Hawks in 1991 and Roos in 1996. Every other time, 1992, 1994, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002 and 2003 thr GF has been won by the non-Victorian side. There is more pressure on the Victorian side (from the Victorian media and public) against the non-Victorian than vice versa in the week leading up to the GF.

Intresting facts, but as a victorian i would love too see any vic side stick it up Adelaide or any interstate side, in this years grandfinal.

Its about time a vic side holds the cup up at the end of the year, not another same old boring interstate side!!!!!!!!!:p

In 1997, St Kilda went 4-0 at the MCG until the GF.
In 1998, North went 11-3 (losses to 3 Vic sides) at the MCG until the GF.

Home records only count as an advantage when Vic teams travel.

Crows performance at the G in finals time is nothing to be sneezed at my friend. Far better than bulldogs and demons in the last 10 years I would hazard to guess.

Some crows supporters used to joke that the G was our second home but then the AFL decided to not give us as many games there so its become docklands instead :D

Melb bother me more for how they match up and how they play.. not because its at the G. The G excites the players I think. Certainly still enough of them around from the 97/98 days to get the younger guys up and I think thats more of an advantage than where its played to be honest.

Having said that.. will all come down to the day.. IF we even make it!

Are we the only club yet to see it since its redevolopent?

Games at the MCG for non-Vic sides in 2006:
Adelaide: R20 (vs Footscray)
Brisbane: R10 (vs Collingwood)
Fremantle: R7 (vs Melbourne), R15 (vs Collingwood)
The Evil Empire: R13 (vs Melbourne)
Sydney: R9 (vs Hawthorn), R19 (vs Melbourne)
West Coast: R14 (vs Hawthorn), R22 (Richmond)

So, yes, assuming that all the Victorian sides have played there by now, we are indeed the last team to see the "new" MCG.

Given that no non-Vic team plays there more than twice, it would be hard to argue that we get less opportunity to play there than any other non-Vic side.
