Great pressure so far but Tippett's kicking for goal is embarrassing to say the least.

Best quarter of footy I've seen Griffin play. Great stuff.
Sloane, Jaensch, Douggie, Symes, Davis, Hendo. All the guys I wanted to see play well.
Also Truck and Stiffy, love them.

I dare say he got told a few home truths from the leadership group and coaches. I think we also about to see Melbourne apply a tagger to him as they seriously can not afford to allow him to run free like he did in that first quarter.
Hopefully he continues on from his great start

Thoughts at Quarter Time:
Intensity at the ball has been fantastic. I worry that we won't be able to keep it up all game, simply because the effort we are giving right now it at such a high standard. Attack at the ball has been far superior to Melbourne and even our tackling *gasp* has been impressive.
Ability to convert still hurts. So much good work in the midfield and defence for such little reward. 30 points at half time is ok but misses from Tippett and dropped marks from Henderson hurts. Still too much long bombing, need to hit more players up.
We look quick and fresh right now. Helps having plenty of young blood in the team. Lots of inexperienced players out there who have energy and are willing to put their body on the line.
Symes, aside from some disposal errors, killed in that quarter.
Vince looks much improved but some of his kicks, whilst taking risks which is good, are the kind that put us under pressure in the corridor and can hurt greatly with a turnover. We're not at the level for that sort of play just yet I don't think.
Tippett has to do more with what he gets. Such a special player but boy does his conversion hurt.

Is it just me or does David Mackay look like he is laboring today when he is chasing an opponent? When he has the footy he doesn't look like he is laboring

The more the opposition is concentrating on tagging defenders instead of kicking goals, the better!
I'm not able to watch the game today so I would like to know where Jaensch is being played?? Would like to see him given a crack up forward.
