Hi guys, once again I have decided to create a thread for those bored people like me that have recorded all of our games and are reviewing them gradually over the off-season to pass the time.

For those of you with Foxtel you will see our games replayed daily on Fox Footy, so if anyone happens to notice something they missed from before then please post it here.

I am up to the 1st Western Derby so far and what I have noticed from the games so far is that we are really lacking in the forward line. Sonny is out, Tabs hasn't come on yet, Pav is getting scragged and double teamed every game and Chris Mayne is way out of form.

Ballas was suspended for the North game so we had all these inside 50's for no result and lost a game that we should have won.

I re-watched the Essendon game last week and have to say that was Danyle Pearce's best game for the club so far. What a shame he doesn't play like that every week.

Crozier hasn't quite come on yet and Lachie Neale takes a huge leap forward when he gets 31 possessions in the 1st Derby and receives the maximum amount of votes in the Ross Glendinning Medal.

The other highlights in the Derby was Zac Clarke's game where he destroyed the Million Dollar Palm Tree around the ground, and who could for get Micky Barlow's goal from the boundary line.

Please feel free to add your thoughts as you review as well.

I've watched a few games, Collingwood, both derbies & Adelaide and just am amazed by how good Sandi is/was this year, arguably only in 2010 was he better. His tap work is just so good. Man I love him, we were blessed he played a full season (and Pav too), fingers crossed he can deliver again in 2015.

Only game i havent watched (still!) is the Rnd20 against Geelong.. i gave strict instructions to an In-Law to tape the two games i would miss whilst overseas.. she got the 1st one right (Carlton), but taped the wrong channel for the second one (Geelong) Would be more pumped to watch it if Mundy kicked the goal, but will finally get the chance to see Crozier and Duffy showing their stuff

I still haven't deleted Pav's 300th.

If it was on VCR, I would have worn it out by now.

I re-watched it up until the Sutty pass to Mundy and then stopped. I can't watch the rest, I am too much of an emotional sook.

You have to watch it though, not only for Duffy and Crozier but for the Barlow jumper pull.

that jumper pull gave me goosebumps. I <3 Michael Barlow, such a Freo man through and through. I don't know that he'll ever be in the leadership group (too much of a goof, and he enjoys that role), but he's definitely at the heart of this team.

He is our spiritual leader. I <3 him too.

Have successfully erased most of that bizarre game from my memory except for the quarter time huddle where I recollect Ross had them in a single file encircling himself. That scared me sh**less watching on TV let alone if I was there. Maybe I'm embellishing it but there was nowhere to hide.

I watched the round 8 game against Port Adelaide again on the weekend and the comparison between our pace and fitness to theirs was like chalk and cheese. Seeing Tommy Sherridan on his haunches blowing hard in the 1st quarter highlighted this fact.

We threw everything at them for 3/4's of the game, only to run completely out of steam in the last quarter. To be fair though we were coming off a derby with a 6 day break.

Once we subbed Hilly out in the 3rd with a sore knee we were totally cooked as we had no run at all.

Wingard kicked 5 goals on Lee Spurr that game, but as we were without Dawson, McPharlin and Ibbotson we had no choice as Silvagni was on Shultz and Johnno had Westhoff to contend with.

Danyle Pearce copped his famous Ross Lyon spray which had an immediate impact on his work rate in the last quarter.

I also managed to watch the Geelong game in round 9 which was great. Keeping Geelong goalless in the 1st quarter was an upstanding achievement for Pav's 300th.

Crowls did the job on Stevie J and Zac Dawson did the job on Tom Hawkins.

Great games by Tendai and Hilly too.

The crowd went ape droppings when Pav kicked his 600th goal.

The highlight of this game though simply has to be the dacking of James Kelly by Hayden Ballantyne.

The umpire couldn't pay holding the ball, or a free for dacking, so a high fend off was used to give Ballas a free kick which resulted in a goal instead.

I watched two games this weekend, the round 11 away game against the Bulldogs and the round 12 game at home against Adelaide.

To me the highlight of both these games was the coming of age of Stephen Hill.

Nat Fyfe was surprising quiet during the Bulldogs game, which suggests to me that he was either injured or he copped the hard tag that Stephen Hill would have normally been given.

I thought that Zac Clarke was outstanding in the Bulldogs game, but struggled against Sam Jacobs in the Crows game. Whereas Sandi seemed to struggle against Minson at times but certainly displayed why he was chosen ahead of Sam Jacobs in the All Australian side when the two went head to head.

Both Nick Suban and Danyle Pearce had good games, whilst Tom Sheridan was subbed out of the Bulldogs game for Ibbo after not doing much and therefore their roles reversed in the Crows game. I did like Sheridan's game against the Crows though.

I just sat through our matches against Richmond at the MCG and Brisbane in the wet at Patersons again and must admit that Colin Sylvia wasn't as bad I first thought.

He had 16 touches in a full game against Brisbane, while he did okay as the sub in the Richmond game.

The stand out in both these was Hayden Ballantyne with 6 goals against Richmond and 5 goals against Brisbane, even with Pearce Hanley on him.

We played pretty ordinary in that first derby (second one too).

Hope for 2015 we put up a better showing and give them a flogging.

Yep, I watched the second derby the other day and we played worse than what we played in the first one. Simmo and the Eagles were ready for us this time, except they had that hack Mark Hutchings on Nat Fyfe in the first quarter, in which Nat had 13 possessions in.

They then used Selwood to scrag and tag him for the rest of the game.

Colin Sylvia kicked our first goal that day and Stephen Hill won the medal.

The Eagles couldn't kick straight and Ballas was on fire in the second half.

Sandi destroyed both Cox and Naitanui, however we only won by 7 points in the end.

I also watched the Carlton game and the St Kilda disaster last weekend as well.

Geeze we were horrible for about a month there after the GWS game.

What the hell happened to us?

Well just watched our game against Geelong at Skilled Stadium again.

The umpiring in that game makes it more harder to watch than Mundy's last shot on goal after the siren.

Geeze we missed some easy shots on goal that day, but how good was Crozier and Duffy in that game?

Fyfey was awesome as well, especially considering he was carrying that injured shoulder all game.

Zac Dawson was fantastic on Hawkins too.

Just Watched Pav's 300th.

Probably our best game of the season. Everyone played a great game. Sandi dominated like a beast and all of our mids were sublime. Ballas' goal was a thing of beauty.

:-(

Makes me a little depressed how we were never able to find that top level form often.
Rn1 Collingwood
Rn9 Geelong
Rn21 Hawks

Yes, I noticed that we went through that patch where we lost our mojo for a while.

Our defensive pressure was non-existent and our forward line just couldn't fire.

We were lucky that Ballas had a good year, because Mayne and Pav certainly didn't and Sonny missed 17 games.

First quarter of Geelong game round 20.

We were bloody all over them. Sandi, Pav and Mundy all missed easy shots and Mayne missed a 60/40 shot. We should have been up by 24 points and had Geelong on the back foot.

Plus the umpires were clearly favouring Geelong with the free kicks. That fee kick against Cam Sutcliffe on Joel Turtlewood really makes my TV suddenly smash to pieces.
