Ok,

- Definately upgrade that GFX card. 8800GT for gaming minimum IMO.
- Lower the RAM, no need at all for 8GB. 4GB Max, 2GB is fine actually.
- The case is ok, but i'd personally recommend the Coolermaster RC-690. You can get that with a 460W PSU, but I'd buy my own to be safe.

The Quad core and Mobo are fine choices, but you could take a look at the newer E8400 chips. Actually take a look at Thrawns build from a couple of weeks ago, it was pretty much spot on bang for buck PC gaming machine.

Any questions, just PM me, I'll help you out.

You should update your system to this

Case: Antec 900 ($200)
Processor: Intel E8400 3.0Ghz ($275)
Motherboard: XFX 680i SLI ($300)
Ram: Corsair 2GB 1066mhz ($180)
Graphix Card: XFX 9800GT 512mb ($260)
Hard Drive: 750GB SATA II 16mb ($140)
CD-Rom: Asus 20x Lightscribe ($50)
Power Supply: Corsair HX-620 ($220)

Total: $1,625

i know it is a few hundred dollars more but its alot better system.

Buy from MSY. Bargain prices, recently built this system:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 - $282
ASUS P5Q-SE - $148
Kingston 4GB 800Mhz RAM - $60
Nvidia 9800GTX+ - $240
Western Digital 750GB HDD - $105
Coolermaster CAC-T05 (w/ 460W PSU) - $105
Pioneer 216 CD/DVD-RW - $31

Total - $971

Those Intel E8x00 CPUs are great overclockers as well. I comfortably overclocked mine to 3.8GHz on stock cooling. 4GHz + would be a breeze with an aftermarket cooler.

Processor: Intel i7 940 $800
Motherboard: Intel DX58SO (X58 chipset) $400
Ram: Ocz gold tri. channel 6GB ddr3 10666/1333mhz $260
Case: Antec 1200 $299
Power Supply: Ultra X3 1600w $500
Graphics Card: 3x Bfg gtx 280 ocx (Triple SLI) $1,500
Hard Drive: Velociraptor 300GB $330
CD-Rom: 2x Asus 20x lightscribe $100
Monitor: Samsung 30" $1,280
