Oh hello, now Gardiner's "bashed" someone in a pub. Funny that they fail to mention until one sentence in the middle of the article that the guy was pissed. Anyone care to put money on Mr Pisspot having gone up to Gardiner and given him his frank and honest opinion of his role in the current drugs brouhaha?

Remember folks, in the media there is no defence of provocation.

ALL WE WANT IS PROOF. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR???

Whos said he bashed anyone?

From what I hear, there was an "altercation", which could mean anything really, my initial thoughts were more towards the verbal kind of altercation. Where did you hear this "bashing" business?

How long has the "no beers on Sunday rule" been in place??? I saw Troy Wilson at the Cottesloe Sunday Session on the 2nd March. (long weeknd)... he had just finished draining the main vein and I was storming in to break the seal. He actually got out of my way when he saw the look of determination/anxeity on my face.
There was word that Jimmy Hird and a few Bombers were also there enjoying an extended w/end in the west.

Time to come clean. It was me that had the "altercation" with Gardy.

I thought the boy was getting a bit big for his boots, so I took him down a notch or two.

He's 10cm taller than me and 25kg heavier, but in the end he was calling me sir and promising to clean up his act.

The kid should be alright from now on.

OMG, he went to the toilet. How dare he.

I think Mr Eagle's on the money with this one.

Well in society, there sint really either - especially being a public figure.

Yes I realsie it is probably a beatup, but if the guy is out p!ssing up, when there is a team rule not to, and gets into an altercation, who does he have to blame?

The guy who provoked him?

He needs to grow up, and learn to throw real punches, while he's at it ;)

OMG...That is cutting edge humour!

he was noted by all and sundry (who recognised him in the first place) to be consuming the amber fluid in the courtyard / pergola area.

I'm sick of all these damn allegations aimed at our players.

This is Perth and they are Eagle players.
They should be able to do what they want, when they want.

As a wise man once said, 'We treat star athletes better, because they're better people".

GARDINER

I heard he got a few good ones in....as ud expect from a player from our wonderfull club. I totally agree that some pissed arseh*le probably came over and game him some ****! But being a top AFL player means you have to be above such things. Gardiner should have walked away although it is hard to do...I for one couldnt do it!
JURYS IN: SHAME ON YOU GARDINER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SENTENCE YOU TO.....A WEEK WITHOUT A BEER OR A LINE FOR THAT MATTER :D

Well the media are looking for anything now.....

Cousins goes to shop
The West Australian
By Kim Hackdorn

Late yesterday afternoon onlookers were shocked as star West Coast on baller Ben Cousins was seen leaving his home and driving to the shops.

It is not known at this stage as to what the star player bought but he was seen going into the local deli and the newsagency. Ben Cousins has not been reached for his comments.

"I was shocked when he came out of the deli and then WENT into the newsagency" said one onlooker. After he came out of the newsagency he got in his car and drove home. The owner of the newsagency had this to say "I was in disbelief as he came up and bought the local newspaper"

At this stage Cousins hasnt been charged with anything but a full investigation is under way.

Why not say that then instead of concentrating on the whole toilet thing, or was that your idea of cutting edge humour?

More light hearted than cutting edge... Put it this way, have you ever seen the bloke take a side step???... Well I have, and it was me who he avoided contact with when he saw I was on a mission to get to the trough asap.

Do you requie everything to be explained???

Actually, if it came out that he did smack the bloke for getting in his face about the current reports, I suspect every single Eagles fan would stand up and cheer him for doing so :)

I've got a mate who was down at the cott that night and saw the Gardiner incident.

From what he said nothing much happened.
Some Drunk guy came up to gardiner and started talking to him.
Gardiner kept walking and the guy started pushing and swearing at him till gardiner pushed him back.

Nothing else too it ... from what I've heard it seems like nothing but a big media beatup.

another beatup

What a waste of time that article was.Seems to me Ben Martin(who ??) has a major problem with the Eagles. How come he mentions that a group of Eagles - and members of another elite Perth sporting team - were seen with Kizon having a coffee. Why are we not told who the other "elite" team is?Why is it only the Eagles who are mentioned?Do we all now play guessing games over who the others were?Must be Perth Glory - or Wildcats - or Western Warriors. They are the only other elite teams in this city.No-one could accuse that bunch of tossers from the other side of the river of being elite!!

Paul Rogers and James Harvey also associate with Kizon
(they were the other 2 high profile players)
but in saying that it isn't a crime to associate with people who may be criminals.
I don't think it's the associations with Kizon that some people are worried about, but rather that if they associate with Kizon it merely implied that they are into something more sinister.
Dodgy all round

Thank you FreoDocker for that hearsay eyewitness report. However, I too have my sources:

BIG EAGLE ACCUSED

The West Coast Eagles were reeling from another crisis today as their big man stocks are likely to be further depleted by suspension and injury.

Star ruckman Michael Gardiner was accused of punching an innocent bystander in the fist with his jaw at a well-known Perth watering hole. Eyewitnesses said that Gardiner, dressed all in black and sipping alcoholic coffee with a well-known Perth identity, who cannot be named because I don't know who he is, viciously assaulted a man for no reason, other than that he was spitting, vomiting and abusing Gardiner, calling him light-hearted names like "you're a big, fcucking, drug-taking ****."

As Gardiner backed away threateningly, the man, who cannot be named because everyone would realise what a dcikhead he is, tried to avoid contact by throwing himself at Gardiner. A person who wasn't there said that Gardiner should have behaved better as he is a public figure.

Meanwhile, at training, where Gardiner was reported by a girl who once said "hello" to him to be smiling ruthlessly and imbibing what looked like a liquid substance, key Eagles key position player Wilson Tuckey went down with a serious knee injury. It is believed that Tuckey was actually dead on arrival at hospital. An Eagles insider said "oh no, we'll never beat the Dockers without him in the side".

The West Coast Eagles refused to comment.

Oh I think Freo are a very l33+ team, myself ;)

in light of all the posts supporting this hidious monster i have decided to contact the police regarding my horrible mistreatment at the hands of that brute.
About 3 months ago i was a sweet innocent young virgin happily bounding along the Hay St mall (a place i can no longer bare to go, as memories of my ordeal keep flooding back) when a huge shadow blocked out the sun. i looked behind me and saw the evil ba$**** most people know as Gardy. Not knowing the folly of my actions i turned to face him and told him of my admiration of his truely fab footyplaying ability (okay, so i congratulated him on hitting Pav at the demolition derby) he smiled and we chatted for a while, every second my feelings of apprhension grew, surely no sane and decent man could smile as much as he did, surely i should run away screaming from this man who was quite obviously a criminal genius. Foolishly i ignored my insticts and what followed will haunt me for the rest of my life

Micheal Gardiner physically and sexually assulted me.
As i bid him goodbye he lent over, touched my arm and said "See you later gorgeous". The only thing worse then the pain of that moment is the constant fear that his haunting and violent farewell in the implied threat that i will never again be safe, obviously he plans to stalk me.

so please, dont defend this evil, beastly man, he deserves to rot in hell for all eternity

ps- all of this story is true, except for the bit about being a virgin
