Every game i watch the calder cannons this killed absolutely destroy's his opposing midfield, no one though seems to be talking about him being drafted. Do any of you guy's think he will be picked up by a club? I certainly hope he comes to Carlton.

He's an interesting one, certainly a terrific TAC Cup player and had a great season. Centreman, inside type, long powerful kick, but doesnt seem a great one when it comes to shorter passing, he has strength through conjestion, even the other day we saw him arch the back and shrug off a tackle and that is a trademark of his game.

I haven't got his average possessions in front of me, I guess he'd be up around the 25-30 mark this season, and gets a few goals from the midfield as well.

Despite all that, he is one who dropped down my order in the part of the season after the championships. I'm not entirely sure why, I guess I wonder whether he could fit in at AFL. He isn't really tall. Remember a teammate of his Jesse D Smith last year showed similar sort of attributes but wasn't drafted. Adam Bentick possibly similar again the year before.

He's obviously going to screening, so there is some interest. Hopefully he goes well. There will be a footydraft profile on him coming up in the next month or so.

hey footyman since you seem to have such a great knowledge of potential draftees, i`ll throw you one out of left field. There is a young kid named Dean Putt from the same local club as Gareth Bowes, he is 16 or 17 and will be eligable to be drafted next year. do u have an opinion on him?

Seem him play once (against the Stingrays when the Metro players were out), big tall 16 yr old ruckman. Didn't get much of the ball, did a bit of rucking though.

Got plenty of time, with height like he has I'm sure he'd be hot property in a couple of years if he plays good footy. Maybe eligible in 06, but certainly in 07.

since i've only really watched the calder cannons i dont know to much about other sides, but another kid that caught my attention was Rian Mcgough, i think he looked good enough to be picked up in the 06 draft, especially given his is a cousin of Mark Mcgough......what are your thoughts?

I don't mind Rian. Came through the Vic Metro U16s last year. Inside player, fairly tough in close like Mark. He goes alright, doesn't have a lot of height on his side, certainly one bloke who I have liked what he's done as a bottom age this year. He's probably played every game or close to it, and has had enough of the ball for a bottom age bloke. Will see next year whether he can take on a permanent midfield role I guess.
