We will lose a couple. It is once in a lifetime stuff for the players. I'd go looking if I was them.

Yes they have to (they will) trade picks.
There has already been a formula developed by the AFL for what each club / player would be entitled to.
The method of the formula is not to be released. But it relates to original draft pick, number of finishes in B&F top 10, brownlow etc.
However it has been stated that any club can ring the AFL and ask "what should we get for xxxx" and they will be provided with a guidline.
Chances are the GC will have trouble trading as everyone will not trust a system that is a one off.
Smart clubs will get some shifty trades done.

Back at the Mid-Season Wrap in early June, Brian Cook said something like the following from the floor to Selwood who was on stage at the time: "Congratulations on your new three-year contract." Selwood laughed and replied "Yeah, thanks for that Cooky". But there's been no mention of whether this was just banter or a real deal, and I've seen nothing in the media to suggest the latter.

you will realistically loose a few players, but those two certainly wont be it. ablett for obvious reasons, selwood will get a pay rise with a few of your older boys retiring and he is loved by your fans, future captain etc.
So we can give Tenace the b&f this year, and get pick 7 for him?
