Re: Abbers Out against the Tigers!

I agree with resting not fully fit players in small stakes games. I just hope the boys realise they will still have to put in to get a win on any given day.

They were probably going in to Carltons game not prepared to give 100% and look what happened.

Re: Abbers Out against the Tigers!

Lines gone from -60.5 to -28.5 since the Ablett news.
Surely a lot of you guys would be jumping all over this?

Everyone would be if that was true.
Probably should be 48 though

I dunno, if he's being "rested" because its Richmond I'll be pissed off. Don't like that kind of arrogance, its dangerous.

Re: Abbers Out against the Tigers!

Hopefully he’ll stay and watch his teammates play this time.;)

A cupla interesting quotes from Bomber for the one or two who reckon amassing possession numbers is the be-all-and-end-all(1); and to the perennial Tomahawk knockers (2) who, as Bomber said, “....... watch a game differently than what coaches do and what we expect.”

(1)
"We're not here to entertain. We would love to see Gary kick unbelievable goals and marks and have five bounces of the ball and all that stuff that looks great, but in the end that doesn't win you games.

"What wins you games is stopping the opposition from scoring as much as you do."

(2)
He did do his role for the team, helped our structures, but obviously didn't get any goals.

Re: Abbers Out against the Tigers!

Could just be me, but I would've thought a key forward's role was to kick goals. In that regard, Hawkins didn't perform his role on Monday.

But Bomber's the coach, so I'll bow to his better judgment.

Personally having been reading these forums young christenson (excuse my spelling which i assume is wrong) seems to be deserving of a chance, named in the squad again it appears he is close...

You would think that Varcoe is fit, with a hand injury he should have maintained his physical fitness... just his touch is the important thing there... wouldn't hurt for him to have a game in the VFL, get the confidence up, get a feel for it again.. And can give a kid a game to see what they can do...

DT is crap Supercoach is heeeeeeeeaps better.. Dunks should have a field day i rekn. If the 3 talls dont work this week, i rekn its back to the 2's Hawk, as much as I hate to say it. If we want the Cats to make the history books, there can not be any passengers. It's not just Hawk.. J.Hunt, Blake, Byrnes etc. They all need to be reminded we have Stokes, Hogan, Dunks, Varcoe Jnr, Chrisensen, Menzel etc waiting to swoop..
