Love the way he is playing at the moment. Seems to be a lot more confident playing off HB than being outbodied up forward every week.
 
The game against the Hawks was an interesting one in which the Hawks only laid 18 tackles to half time. Clearly a tactic by Clarkson to keep the bulk of his players out in the open so that they could run or be a exit target when they won the clearance.

I believe that Jetta is the one player that is asked by the coaches to play this role as he is so good & clever at weaving his way out of congestion. It makes the team faster if he sits off the contest. Of course there are many times when he has to tackle but at stoppages I think we need to go easy on him as he would be following team instructions to sit off the packs.
Once players tackle an opponent they are then often out of the next contest. The Hawks hurt us this way when we played them because we had 2 & sometimes 3 players tackling in the same contest.

Gazza,started his senior career as a full time backman and i cant think of anytime in his junior days playing as a forward{maybe wing}.
His attack on the ball as a defender might have earned him a spot in the hamden league team of the year as a 16yo.
Saw the coaching department put him down back and he looked the most comfortable weve seen him.
Hope he remains there for the remainder of the year.
 
Loving his game right now, seems like a completely different player with the game in front of him. His tackling pressure has been incredible, obviously closing speed...loved the way he went bang from outside 50 after the intercept mark last week. I know if I were playing forward and knew he was lurking around if be nervous enough to get rid of the ball as fast as I can
 
He's a pick 6 with height, pace and kicking and tackling ability. Once he gets his pins out, gets a full pre-season and a dozen consecutive games, it will be a case of giving him a jumper and a role/position for any particular match and Horse can worry about other things.

I said he wasnt in our best 22 5 rounds ago, hard to leave him out now. Good to see he's stepped up.

Can't wait to see what kind of player he becomes.
 
Malceski will go as we need to inject some more youth again and he is being offered good cash elsewhere.its great rohan has found his spot coming off center half back. Just needs to work on his kicking skills to set up the play.
 
Is Punts the only one allowed to love Gaz?? :p

Makes such a difference shaking off the shackles of a sub role. Every goal he kicks for us gives me goosebumps.

We re-signed him at the start of the year.
 
His role has been evolving. Pretty much looks like switching to defence for him was the go. But he has that ability to play both ends and I'd love to see him play through the middle more and become a Goddard for us.
