Harris isn't that scary so we could play Carroll on him.
Johnson, Lynch or Hunter on Bandy.

Still have McDougall.

We have the cattle to cover the Dogs.

Lets have Hunter on Harris and Lynch on Bandy... Carroll should be doing laps playing in the WAFL! Otherwise if we do play Carroll do we truelly have the cattle to cover the Dogs?

Looks better than I thought it would. Harris can play a bit though, he matched up pretty well against Polly and probably split the points for the contest even though we pummeled them by 80 + points.

Would Johnson & Lynch (I like this kid) be mobile enough for Bandy?

In principle, yes,

But I'm still trying to get my pulse to stabilise after we played them at Subi last year.

I'd also question the importance of Gaspar to the on field performance - we've managed ok effectively without him so far and I'm not sure his continued absence would result in us nosediving suddenly.

Mind you, he would be a bonus to have playing.

We need to remember that they had Nathan Brown playing for them that day. How many did he kick that day? It seemed about 6 or 7. The player we find hardest to match up on is Brad Johnson. Maybe Chick could go to him to try and negate his power.

Bandy would be too nimble for Lynch whereas I really don't rate Harris and feel that Carroll would be more than adequate in this instance.

True but Lynch would be too strong for Bandy... IMO Lynch would cover the ground sufficiently well to stay with Bandy however would overpower him in contested marking contests.

Lets not forget that even before his knee injury Jako was never the most mobile CHB but what he lacked in mobility he made up for in smarts. I really believe that Lycnh has the smarts to do a similier job to Jako and could stich up Bandy quiet well and hurt him the Bulldogs the other way. Carroll on the otherhand has the physical attributes to be anything in this league and yet has a football brain of a 3 year old. The way I see it I would sooner go with slightly less mobile and yet far more intelligent player in Lynch then an athlete that is just too damn stupid.

The other thing is that Lynch has never really been given an opportunity. GIve him a go and lets back him and see what happens. IMO he should be told at the start of the season you have 12 games to make an impression and do the job. Place faith in him and see what happens and if by end of these 12 weeks he has not performed you still have sufficient time to bring a new tall into the team. I think with players sometime you need to show them that they have more then one opportunity to show what they are made of and therfore relieving the pressure for them to perform instantly and allowing them to succeed over a longer period.
