if its true of course he will take it on he will be crazy if he dosent we all know our next coach is bucks so really what is the future for him at pie land in the next 5 years where as if he asperastions of head coach of an afl coach why not somewhere else

Don't know, I think it's the less sought after role because it's more work at the lower level, most assistants want to keep their foot in the door in the AFL picture, not VFL.

Knights is the only one who jumped from VFL coach to AFL coach and he was very lucky he had his timing right and he had to coach Bendigo for a while to do it.

Put it this way, I considered Brad Gotch the least of our assistant coaches when he was here assistant coaching/head coach of VFL, not the best. I feel differently about Rowdy. But I think Rowdy has a feeling his chance to coach an AFL side was not great, his chance had passed so he was happy taking on the development role in the VFL, would be a good challenge and rewarding but it wasn't a step towards AFL head coaching duties whasoever, he stepped back.

But my feeling is being a right hand man in the coach's box like Guy McKenna and Brad Scott is a much more sought-after position than VFL head coach.

Most new AFL head coache's progress from being 2nd in charge on AFL matchday so I would think that's where aspiring assistant coaches would prefer to be.

Has Buckley signed a contract to coach in 2011 or something? When did it happen that he is our future coach? People should realise there is a difference between supporters wanting something and something being a fact. Give him a little time away from the CFC before you ram the head coaching job down his throat.
