Dont know if it is old news or not but Gavin Crosisca is no longer the fitness trainer at CFC. Does anyone know why he is no longer with Carlton?? (ie sacked, walked out)
If sacked then whhat are the club thinking, looking at the way we have been finishing off games this year.

cheers:thumbsu:

I thought Cordy did the fitness stuff and Crosisca backline.

sorry yeah he does got mixed up between them. my bad. but the backline has come a long way.. especially jammo.. i odnt understand the decision

Needed to make room for Matthew Lappin and Robert Harvey in the coaching panel, just an upgrade on recently retired footballers and probably wanted to clean the club right out of Denis Pagan's appointments/staff.

Have a look around the league.

Assistants are coming and going left, right and centre.

Some moving to better spots, some just starting out, and others leaving the position for good.

Who knows why?
Maybe he had a falling out with Ratts.
Maybe he wants to resume senior coaching with the thought of prepping for a senior job soon........maybe at his old club.;)

All we can say is, Thanks Gav for delivering us Jammo.:thumbsu:

Crossica the last remaining coaching link to the bad old days when Pagan was coach. Ratts would have been planning this regardless of his performance this year... and i reckon good on him. I have an unhealthy amount of confidence in every decision Ratts, Swann and Icke make!

Interesting piece of info i heard earlier this week from a guy who has close links with the club both currently and as an U19 player from the 80's....

We all know Ratts and Sticks are pushing for a very 'We are Carlton and **** the rest' type atmosphere at the club right? Well, when I saw that Crossica got the boot i thought what a great opportunity to get SOS in as a replacement. Cant get much more Carlton than having Ratts, Braddles, SOS and Diesel (part time) on the coaching staff!

Well my source tells me that SOS is still tarnished by the circumstances that saw us done for pushing the boundaries of the salary cap AND that he is renowned around the club for being very $$ hungry/focused.

The bloke is no.1 on my all time list of players which made info like this v hard to swallow.

Unlikely, because Bradley is more than welcome around the place, and he did exactly the same thing as SOS.

Crosisca had done more than enough to justify his place, but all the same it might be time for him to move and get experience somewhere else, perhaps the SANFL to further his coaching career. Gavin did good work for us, and I expect he'll do good work for his next club.

The club has definitely shown a lot of faith in Skinny to fill his shoes.

Skinny has BIG raps, part of the Australian coaching panel.

i spoke to SOS a couple of years back though and he was not at all keen on his boys playing for the CFC. this was to do with the all the off field issues surrounding the club. i assumed this had changed with the new administration.

surely this would have changed...i hope anyway!!

I assume it has, but dont know him personally very well or speak to him regularly so not sure. makes the post before seem believeable though :(

well if it hasnt changed its up to the CFC and his sons to decide whether they want to get drafted

and considering when you see the kids they always have 25 on there back i would assume they love the blues and wouldnt want to play footy for any other club

though coming up within the next 10 to 15 years the new Father/son rule has shafted us!! we will have to give up too much to take sons of greats if they are any good!!

Did he leave maybe in part to having a row with David Teague (playing coach of the bullants) they seemed to have quite a massive dissagreement in the tv game against North Ballarat I noticed towards the end of the season ?

that couldnt be the cause....in the end Gavin would have had more pull compared to Teaguey

maybe Teague wasnt playing a kid in a position or role that Gavin thought would be of benefit!

Was that the one in the wet? Crosisca was probably pissed off at having to hang outside the coaches box to squeegee the window all day.

Are they?
So they hire Robert Harvey and retain Mark Riley?

While it seems nice to get all the old boys back together, IMO it really does us no good.

Lappin, Ratten, Bradley etc all played a lot of senior footy together and will tend to think in similar ways about footy, just by virtue of the fact they had many of the same coaches and played in the same era etc.

I'm all for bringing in some fresh ideas and directions. I'm glad Riley is there and wouldn't have an issue if they brought in someone else from outside the club........maybe from the Hawks or Cats stable.....never hurts to get an insight into what the opposition are doing.

Hopefully with Harvey on board our luck vs the Saints may take a turn.;)

Not true at all BB. I'm sure you've played sport with a group of people, and even though you may have been good as a team, i'm sure you didn't all hold the same approach and values.
Braddles is only there part time. Lappin seems to be quite highly rated as a coach around the AFL. He's been at both Carlton and St. Kilda. Ratten was a blue, went away, did his learning at the Dees, and came back.

I dont see a problem. We've got Monty, Harvey and Riley to balance it out.

Have faith BB

I did say "tend to".

Wasn't indicating they would be robots, all doing the same thing, but as a player you learn from your coaches and surrounding players. Goes to reason that if you all have similar coaches and surrounding players the ideas that might come up may come from a narrower band of experiences. I take your point regarding Lappin and the Dees influence........just wouldn't want us to say, ditch Riley and bring in SOS.

Thats all.:thumbsu:

I think that Serge will have something to say about that tbh. There is no way that the boys would ever play in any other colour...

But yeah, a fair few of the ex-players who left when Pagan and Collins was running the show wouldnt have been a bit pissed off with the direction of the club (the treatment of the boys, stopping playing at PP and moved to the dome).

But now that more Carlton orientated people are in charge, I reckon he is going to be happy with the boys wearing the old dark navy blue :)

It's up to the individual I suppose if he chooses to return to the club in some capacity or not. I mean Bruce Doull left the club on great terms, loves the club with all his heart, but I don't believe he goes back at all for any club functions, not that I am aware of, simply because he's got a different direction/focus in his life now.
