In my humble opinion Geelong need

3 Forwards, 2 Tall and 1 medium sized 1

3 Midfield players, 1 Ruckman, 1 medium sized 1 and 1 small ie David Rodan

2 Tall Defenders.

Thats my opinion, am I MAD or Do you AGREE??????

I agree with most of that.

I think Geelong need to draft one or two players capable of playing a key forward role. (I think B.Graham should be playing in defense).

JUBJUB's call on another small forward is a good one. Although Geelong have R.Burns, as well as a number of other small midfielders, I believe they lack goal kicking options. Another small forward would help to take the pressure off Burns, as well as make a substantial addition to Geelong's firepower.

Strengthening the midfield is also a must. With Hocking gone, and Kilpatrick and Sholl on the way out, it's essential that Geelong draft players who will be capable of replacing their physicallity in the middle (Spriggs and Clarke won't do this alone).

Hopefully Ling and Enright can continue to lift and help in this area, however, drafting should still focus on this particular need.

Another ruckman would also be a good pick-up. P.Street could be a go for backing up King, however, it still wouldn't hurt to have another accomplished (or young) part-time, or full-time ruck on the list. I reckon D.Bandy would have been a good pick, however, Geelong may not have considered striking a deal with the Dockers at that time.

Our list

If, Ben goes back to CHB where does Scarlett, play and this year we had to rely on Mensch and MAD DOG MOONEY to ruck 4 a while, I think its time to take the punt on some forwards of decent size like David Hale or Barry Brookes.

Nolsey mate! What was the  all about? ;)

I reckon Graham should go back into defense. Consider having Scarlett, Harley and Graham as three key defenders. Your backline was fairly good this season, so why not go even further and make it one of the best.

Graham moving into defense, leaves a whole up forward, however, I don't think Graham is a great long term option for the Cats, as a key forward. I don't think he maximises on the opportunities he's given on a week-to-week basis.

You may have to hope that the likes of Mensch, White, and Kingsley can all have a good year as tall forwards.

I reckon the Cats have enough small midfielders at the moment, when you consider the likes of Spriggs and Clarke. Another crumbing forward, like McRae, would be handy though, especially if they could help out in the midfield on occasions.

The only reason Geelong's defense was so good this year was because most of their midfield played there too..
