GEELONG - Fighting On
Do people recommend that Clint Bizzell be traded, there is a young player at the falcons that geelong are keen to get their hands on, Luke Hodge, is it worth trading the Bizz for an early 1st round draft pick, or should we stick the Bizz, Houla and Harley to trade to Ess for Lucas or Haw for Thompson.

Trade Mitchell White to Freo ( why oh why did we pick him up?)

Lowther and Simpson will again be delisted, don't re-draft them.

We have to look to the future, we will not win a flag in the next three years without some major changes to the list.

My observations,
Our current leaders will not win a premiership, for Geelong
Steven King should become a vice-captain
Justin Murphy Should not be traded.
We need a big name Forward, shift hevan and earth to get one, sell the Hickey Stand if needs be. (not Barry Hall)
If Geelong are not active in the trading period, email the club with your disapproval and annoyance at this continual trend.
Stick with the Cats in 2002.

Nolsey, every club is after Luke Hodge, but in reality it will probably be Freo or West Coast who will get him.

Do not trade Mitchell White.

Get rid of Bizzell.

Get a key forward.

Steven King has no leadership abilities. Leave him away from captaincy positions.

If the price is right Bizzell and Houlihan will make good trade bait.

We should encourage Sholl and McGrath to wind it up after 2002.

Continue to bolster our defence. In Matthew Scarlett we have a future All-Australian full-back, we need to build around him to get the full benefit. Players like Foster, Wocjinksi, need more senior games under their belt before Sholl and McGrath retire. Cameron Mooney could be a rotating centre-half-back.

Our midfield is too small, Clarke and Spriggs need some help. We need Cameron Ling to be almost a permanent on-baller. Also release Darren Milburn from half-back into the middle.

If Murphy goes, get Joe Misiti, he's the type of consistent, influential player we need in the middle.

Give Marc Woolnough and Peter Street every chance to be regular senior players next season. If they don't blossom in 2002, they may have to go.

Don't touch Corey McKernan. We've already got more hot and cold players than any other club.

Keep Mitchell White. Give him the vice-captaincy, Steven King doesn't need it yet.

Peter Riccardi needs a change. Take the pressure off and put him on a half-back flank. He should be able to give us drive and hopefully won't have the same close attention from taggers.

Look at Aaron Lord (I can't believe I'm saying this), he's not a Happy Hawk. Hawthorn won't want much for him, probably a 3rd or 4th round draft pick and he might be good for 30-40 goals. Maybe we could pick up Tim Hargreaves and reverse the '96 trade.

Corrigan, Simpson, Lowther, McKay have had their chance, it's time to turn them over.

Appoint me as caretaker coach next July when we hit rock-bottom.

Nah, seriously, stay positive, don't talk up premiership chances, the aim has to be top 8 next season.

RR, you keep on ripping me off! It was MY idea for Geelong to get Misiti.

Perhaps they could also look at Mercuri or Blumfield, or Kane Johnson from the Crows, who have all been touted in the last few days.

Olmy,

What do you think you're doing here?

Come again to grace this board with your undoubted knowledge and wit?

I'm thrilled to have you here.

RR, so you're saying that M.White isn't hot and cold?

Mitchell White has struggled for consistency. But you've taken it out of context.

I was merely saying we didn't need any more hot & cold players, not that we should immediately dump all up & down players we currently have on our list.

Talk about drawing the long bow!

I'm sorry RR, I've caught you in a bad mood today.

The point was, why make a hot and cold player a Vice-Captain, when you are trying to eliminate those traits from your team?

Why not instead, elevate Riccardi, Milburn or King to Vice-Captaincy, based on their consistency and performance.

Obviously my outting of you thinking you are "Captain Turquoise" has affected your judgement somewhat. You've been on the back-foot ever since!!

Riccardi is already vice-captain.

Milburn's immediate chances of a leadership role were dented following his "acknowledgment of the applause" at Optus Oval, R22.

King is a viable option, but still relatively young, his time will come.

I thought since White is an experienced Premiership player, he may thrive if we show faith in him by making him part of our official leadership group. It may help him feel more a part of the club and motivate him to get his body right and have a good season.

re:

Red rover, good post regarding our list. I also recall a humourous post regarding pies at Kardinia Park.

Olmy, I thought you were a Brisbane fan?

On another point, are you related to RR?

Keep it up. You have injected new life into the previously moribund Geelong supporters' board.

cheers

I've just been on the phone to Riccardi, and he says he doesn't know anything about being the Vice-Captain. He thinks he must have been messing around in that big Beaumont's pie suit, when the announcement was made.

Milburn's acknowledgement of the applause is the PERFECT lead up to being Vice-Captain. Or would you rather the jeers that J.Murphy and M.White receive from their own fans, as a suitable lead up?

Actually, that was me who posted about the Beaumont's Pies.

I'm actually a Fitzroy and Lions supporter, but I also have a soft spot for Geelong (not unlike the soft spot in a Beaumont's pie). I give them my moral support, and may even buy a minor membership, if it helps to keep them going in the future.

As for Red Rover, well, I am not related to him. How could I be, when it is really me, posting as Red Rover??

Yes, that's right. I am Red Rover. You've exposed the scam. It's been me all along!!!

Olmy can you kick

If David Mensch played for 10 years surely you can get a game, and its Olmy coming up for his 15th posession, pretty Geelongs non defensive game has seen Adam Dimpson get 50 possies in the first half :p

Talk about the ultimate insult, turn it up, Olmy!!

Next you'll be taking credit for Mr Underpants!

Riccardi, V-C. Riccardi is nowhere near consistent. His form was awful this year. I know he had that cheekbone injury, but he never looked like getting the ball when he returned.

Thanks, rickster. But it was Olmy who developed an infatuation for Beaumonts pies. I took him down to Geelong for the Lions game in 2000 and he couldn't stop talking about them after that.

He is, but he likes to follow me wherever I make posts.

Thankfully not, those Germans are bad eggs...........

I see I am having trouble with one of my alternate identities on this board. Red Rover seems to have developed a mind of his own, after months of me being able to control him, hassle free. I wonder whether it's such a good idea to go around with phony id's, like me, with Red Rover? Especially if they get out of control like this one obviously has.
