Sydney can have him if they're daft enough to pay that much. His one on one work is good (apart from that last contest as Topkent said) but he's replaceable.

I agree with the rest of your post, but I honestly think he is a poor 1on1 player. I think he is excellent at chopping the ball off and playing on guys who rely on athleticism like Cameron, if we do keep him and get someone who can play on the genuine big guys that is when you'll see the best of TMac. I've always thought I can cop him occasionally conceding a bag to his opponent OR giving away goals here and there with bad disposal, but the problem is he does both.

Don't get too caught up from 1 post on Bigfooty... I'm not having a go at wowlace, but "I heard" isn't exactly concrete evidence that Sydney have offered him that much.

definitely, source isn't reliable at all. I just pass it on because why ****ing not

with some of the deals going done lately it doesn't surprise me at the least.

He frustrates me a lot but as much as I hate to admit it Tmac is crucial at the moment. With our pressing and zoning we need key defenders who are athletic, perhaps TMac's greatest asset. Unless we get Hurley, we need to hold onto TMac unless we get a monster offer.

Dunn has one year left after this. Not sure what he'll do. Also interested to see if Garland can work his way back into the team, hopefully at OMac's expense who is still too raw for me to justify him getting consistent game time.

On another note I reckon Frost has been awesome recently. He's starting to look really at home in defence, and even though he's an ordinary kick at least he knows this and plays within his limitations. He's also damn quick too.

Was far from his worst game but I know what you're saying. Mistakes like that and OMacs panic handball into the ground are the things that make me unsure if we could ever trust the McDonalds in a final.
Not too worried about 20yo OMac panicking a bit.

Frost is like TMac except he knows he isn't a great kick.

And he's more powerful, love it when you can see him line up a bloke from 5m away and then just accelerate into him
Him and VDB must be campaigners to train with

As my old man said to me if they were playing frost up forward to give him a feel of the movement and positioning before sending him back it was pretty smart in hindsight

On the subject of power, I wonder how TMac would go if they got him to bulk up a little more in the preseason. Obviously he is an excellent runner, but what if we tried to sacrifice some of that for 3-4 extra KGs?

Have wondered that myself, surely he wouldn't lose much if he was a bit heavier

I reckon TMac might be told to go for thise kicks - we dont have a great kick down back (with Salem out) and he can kick 50m bullets that look great - but the ones he blows (probably 30-50%) always cost us because theyre in our back half.

I reckon he'll rein it back when we get better kicks off the HBF.

I think you're spot on about them wanting him to back himself in. Tho I think 30-50% is a bit rough, I can only remember one from the weekend ... its just that when they happen, they're so costly. His kicking has actually improved immensely over the last few years.

Would also like to heap some praise on Frost as well, He's a taller combination of AVB and Hunt ... and that is amazing. His kicking is obviously pretty ordinary, but I think it's mostly when he's going at full tilt, which hopefully gets better with some practice, and even if it doesn't, we can deal.

Let's just imagine for a moment that a Club comes in with a big offer for BOTH T & O Mac; what would they need to offer?

Baring in mind that as our midfield continues to develop, a tall backline of Frost, Dunn & Garland for 12 months isn't necessarily a complete nightmare...

I agree.... the complete nightmare would include Dean Terlich and a season ending ACL to Hogan...

Watching on the couch, man Gerard Healy has really jumped on the bandwagon this year.
Theres probably a little bit of bias in it

I cant help but think with our current form, we could be a real chance to topple the hawks this week.
As i say that im watching the famous victory for the dees that saw us beat Geelong last yeat at Simmonds. If we play like that we will beat Hawthorn

I did say in the predication thread that we'd beat the hawks this year. While i still stick to it, i really feel our moment was the weagles over at subi. That was the one, but we didn't get there

We generally haven't put 2 bad games together. It's good to be able to call a winning game a bad performance. Hawthorn are just doing enough to win at the moment. They were ordinary last week. They're due for a loss. Probably not this week but I give us a chance
