How do you think he'll go as captain for the next match?? Big job but I think he'll do well. He's also due for a big score...he looked in great touch on Saturday....anyone agree?

Didn't get to see him bat on Saturday, but 36 out of 140 odd isn't too bad I guess.

Despite his obvious abilities as a leader/future captain, I'm not sure how much experience he has. Has he even captained South Hobart/Sandy Bay before? Without doubt once he captains a bit he will be fantastic. I guess now is the right time for him to prove himself in that area. Potentially these next 2 games (I doubt Dan Marsh will be mark for the 2nd game after seeing the injury on the news) for Tassie could be there most important since they entered this competition, given the extreme advantage of playing the final at home. At least, he gets to first test his wares against a dismal SA team.

Can't really see any others in our team that could do a better job than Bails.

Not sure gridlocked- doesn't mention anything about it on his cricinfo profile. I don't think he captained Aus, but there's a fair chance he captained Tassie underage teams.

He has a good mentor in Dan Marsh though.

cameron white was the captain of the u19 WC winning side in tassie, beat the boks in the final.

I certainly rate him. I have followed him over the past few years and while he isn't going as strong this year as he was last year, he is still scoring runs. The problem is that he seems to have Martyn Syndrome...he gets to 30 or 40 and gets out.

He can score very quickly, so he wouldn't be out of place in a 20/20 World Cup squad.....

martyn syndrome has been renamed Shaun Marsh syndrome just to let ya know.

yeah I think a few of our younger players suffer from slap and giggle syndrome and dont craft innings as much.

White, Clarke, Bailey among those in that category.

Clarke has certainly matured recently, but for a long time was completely unreliable.

now as long as hussey or punter is at the other end he can score runs.

I think the biggest thing holding him back is his unselfishness. He will always do what is required for the team (which includes sometimes throwing the bat). Other players ahead of him at the moment are more concerned about their average than their teams results (Brad Hodge comes to mind- not saying he's not a lot better than Bailey, just that his attitude sucks).
