I got a phone call last night from the membership dep. asking me to try and get all my family members and any other docker fans I know on board as they have sold 7000+ new members know and resigned nearly all of last years members. This puts us in the region of 34K!!! The bloke also said that I should encourage people to join this year as they are expecting to sellout next year as the limit is 40K!!!

The bandwagon is in full swing. Just need another 10,000 more to fill the stadium. Geezzzzzzzzzz ........ how's a bloke suppose ta get a beer around here.

Yep today i spoke to the membership department aswell , & I was asking them If they got my change of addrress , the I proceeded to ask them how the numbers were , so for this year 92% of members from last year have re-signed & on top of that 6, 435 members are newbies. you do the sums. but I know the answer =

Here's a q: do you need a season ticket to be in the running for a Grand Final ticket (should the ultimate happen) or will a club membership be just as valid?

I would have thought so (as long it's the full membership), although i'd expect harbour masters to get first priority.

I figure if we're in the top 3 or 4 come July, I might book a flight to Melbourne for the GF and if we make it, I should be able to jag a ticket if I line up early enough. I think each competing club gets around 8 or 9,000 tickets each, which would be about 1/4 of our membership. I wouldn't expect many more than that to make the trip over. If we dont make it i'll go over there and soak up the atmosphere of the parade.

And i'm in block 303, about 5 seats from the smaller video screen. It took me until 2000 to get those seats, and i'm sure as hell not giving them up now.

you may have 30-40 thous members but to win a flag you need to win big games at the "G"...freo get hammered everytime...

you may win all your home games and some against sides like the dogs in melbourne, earn a home final and then what..come to melbourne and think you can all of a sudden take home a cup...

Gees I wish we could be more like Hawthorn ....not making the finals, wearing poo brown, having membership figures that include fans pets, forced to play home games off shore and threatened with merging/extinction every decade or so.

Please boredhelmet tell us more, actually on second thoughts I think we may just stick with our young guns who made the finals (you know those games in September that everyone else plays in)and let you stick with your Spider (who will be retired in 3 years), your captain (who has a chronic back), Nathan Thompson (hey NT you string 3 games together and I'll call the Guiness Book of Records) ....hey there is always Luke McParlin ....oh sorry, well theres Jade Rawli .....oh sorry ....Trent?
