Getting games on merit.....

Players like Tuck are out of favour because they are not seen to be our future. Unless he brings in great leadership like Cousins or can fill a major void such as a key position like Miller, I don't think I would want him playing either.

Wouldn't you call winning contested footy in the middle a major void in our game?????

If there are people within the organization who can't put friendships or dislikes aside for the betterment of the organistaion they should be ****ed off , irrespective of the position the hold . It's inevitable that there are going to be some who don get along with others !
The biggest concern I have is what appears to be an inability to admit wrong doing and the presumed gaurantees which where granted to players drafted from other clubs .
I was very forthright in my view that I hoped one of Tuck , Jackson or Grigg weren't in our side by seasons end , because in my view if they where all in our side it was an indication that we hadn't developed in contested Footy .
Wow how's things have changed , Martin who I hoped would improve his contested game has gone backwards at a rate of knots in his ability at stoppages , ditto Jackson , Grigg despite his physical size is actually playing the outside role of a Nason like , however doesn't poccess the run and carry of Nason .
Edwards has been used at stoppages and as always is ****ing hopeless and Foley is not being used regularly at stoppages ??
It really is little wonder we are continually getting smacked at clearances .
The massive concern going forward is the free ride Houli and Grigg have been given and the ongoing admission from the club that we are going to be more active this trade period ?

Out of those in bold, I'd say Morton is the only real upgrade. Frankly all those players listed should be depth or on the edge of our best 22 but we just don't have the depth at the moment.

The point I am trying to make is that we don't have any real upgrades ready to take their place. People have been calling for their heads, wanting them dropped for various reasons. Then when they do get dropped and someone replaces them, they're hardly an upgrade (if at all) and then people start complaining about why that player isn't dropped and the cycle continues...

I agree with the Houli, Newman and Lids thing. They're all average at defending and we can't afford to have so many offensive HB's with the current defence and midfield pressure we have ATM. Batch looks most likely to take over from Newy, he's a good size, kick and seems to be more defensively minded than the others.

They all haven't been given prolonged opportunity so therefore there is hope , the players they replace McGuanne ,Edwards and Grigg to a lesser extent have all been in the system long enough and been given plenty of opportunity and have proven their useless .

"maybe" they should go !! If that rumor is true there has to be a members revolution. That sort of contract has "AFLPA approved" stamped all over it.

Was listening to SEN yesterday and they were talking about certain players not getting games and it was mentioned that Hardwick had put the hard word on a few of them to show that they were willing to do what it takes to be part of the side. Unfortunately we have a few that simply aren't willing to do that and as such they won't be played in the side unless there is no other options available.

Now if you look through the list of players that have been in and out of the side very quickly in recent times despite what some would consider good form at Coburg and/or AFL level its not that hard to work out just who these players are. Be safe to say that a number of these players have had their papers stamped and will find themselves out the door in about 8 weeks time and rightly so to.
