Just recently had to reformat my laptop as i was having issues turning it on, and lost all my music on it (i have now got an external hard drive to back things up) and was just wondering if there was an easy, free way to get music back of your iphone. i could do it with my ipod but not sure how to with an iphone.

I used iPhoneBrowser to get my music from my iPhone.
You can get it HERE
You should be able to find your music through this computer app and use it to copy the entire folder which should contain all your music.
It will take a while to complete and the songs will show as random letter combinations. Your computer knows they are mp3 files so all you need to do is import them back into iTunes.
Make sure you have the 'Let iTunes organise my music library' option checked in preferences so it will sort out all the song names for you. Should put them into all the appropriate folders aswell.
