Hello fellow poker players i have recentley just turned 18 :) and want to start playing online poker. what are the best sites eg. soft play, deposit and cashouts etc all help whould be great thanks.

Partypoker, Pokerstars, Paradisepoker, Fulltilt are all reputable but some of the softer games can be found at Partypoker in my opinion.

My advice would be to download the software and play around on the play money games for a little while to get the feel of the interface. You wont improve your game on the play money tables because they are often filled with idiots that go all in every hand but they help when it comes to learning how to use the site.

Partypoker is safe. I have deposited and withdrawn money literally dozens of times without any hassles. Be aware though that to cash out you have to provide the site with a copy of your drivers license or passport. This can be scanned and emailed though. Also have your bank details handy (BSB, Switch and account numbers) as it is far easier, cheaper and quicker to withdraw through bank transfer than recieveing a cheque from the site. Bank transfers only take a couple of days and are transferred to Australian dollars.

Look up Rakeback before you put money into any site.. especially with Full Tilt.

The most important thing is bankroll management.. make sure you have around 20 Buy Ins for the level you are playing. Poker is a game of up and down, the hope is you slowly move up overall...

Make sure you research the bonuses before signing up anywhere. You can miss out on great signup bonuses, affiliate bonuses or rakeback if you aren't careful.

My advice to a starting out player would be to start with the free $10 on VCpoker. Start out at a very low limit until you feel comfortable with the interface and happy with your play. There are also a number of reputable free money deals available from Poker Source Online. You can get around $50 free (no deposit), or more if you are willing to deposit. (disclaimer: I get a small referral fee if you use the PSO link above and complete a bonus).

I see you have already signed up to Party - normally I would advise you to get a referral under the "tell-a-friend" scheme. This is a bonus of $40 for you and $80 for the referrer, and one that cashes out very quickly. Party has been very profitable for me - I signed up a couple of weeks ago, and am running about 8BB/100 over about 3000 hands.

At some point you will want to sign up for an e-wallet such as Neteller. Neteller enables you to instantly deposit at almost all poker sites without giving your credit card details out everywhere). Cashouts to Neteller are also pretty fast (usually 24 hours). They also have a "prepaid card" which allows you to withdraw money at ATMs or pay for purchases - a great way to spend your poker winnings. Neteller also have a refer-a-friend scheme - if you deposit $100, you get $10 extra and the referrer gets $20.

When you have a bankroll of $350, I would suggest signing up for Pacific Poker via pokerlistings.com. You get $175 added instantly (you have to bet 20x the bonus before you can withdraw, but this is relatively fast). Be warned that the rake at low limits is very high on Pacific, so it's best if you can play at least modest limits (say 1/2 limit, or $50NL). Pacific also have some fantastic freerolls for pokerlistings players as long as you are willing to play poker at 6am on a Monday morning!

If you like 1/2 limit, or $100NL I would also suggest William Hill Poker. They have an amazing pay-to-play offer, where you earn $10 per hour (actually 5 pounds) for up to 5 hours per month at 1/2 limit ($100NL) and above. Multi-tabling counts, so you can play five tables for one hour and earn the $50. I have found 1/2 limit at WH to be extremely fishy (must be all those sports punters). You can also get 30% rakeback at WilliamHill (on top of the pay-to-play) via RakeTheRake, which makes it one of the best deals around. (disclaimer: I get a tiny commission as well if you use the above link).

If anyone wants a referral for Neteller or Party, just send me a PM :) (although most people on this board can probably also refer)

Good advice although the significant problem with Neteller is the exhorbitant fees. I stopped using Neteller because you get bashed by the fees. You get charged by Neteller when you transfer from your poker account to your Neteller account. Then you get charged again when you make a withdrawl from your Neteller account. I've done the math and you end up losing nearly 10% of your winnings by using Neteller. If you can wait the extra couple of days, it is much more profitable just getting a bank transfer.

I got a spam email from CD Poker the other day, free $20.

Use bonus code: EASY20

I had half an hour on it. "NeilCraigUMoron" is up to $30. :thumbsu:

I was to enthusiastic and just signed up and deposited straight without doing any research and relising how many offer and deals are out there:mad:

Don't worry, there are a million other sites out there, and Party does pretty good reload bonuses every now and then. Watch out for the ones with a 3x qualification requirement.

As far as I know, Neteller does not charge me any fees whatsoever on transactions to and from poker rooms (the poker room pays all the fees). If I withdraw $100 from a poker room, I get $100 in Neteller. The prepaid card costs $10, plus about 2% in transaction fees (or currency conversion fees). Other withdrawal options range from Seems like a great deal to me. Other withdrawal types cost a flat fee of around $10, which is ok if you don't cash out too often.
