Well I'm very keen for us to bounce back hard against Sydney this weekend. They are a very organized outfit and can take on anyone, as they proved on Friday. They are quite differnet side from Port so I reckon some adjustments are on the cards.

We need to come to grips with their flooding tactics. Quick takeaways from the centre are important, but in general play and coming out of defence we may need to use the short game.

We have the skills to execute the short game under pressure, but we need to add some nippy little blokes like Didak and Adkins to shore up that part of our game. Quick centre clearances require a dominant ruck and/or midfield control. I think Sydney are too well organized to let us get on top of all their midfielders, so we need to win the ruck well. This kid Mott seems quite good, so Stunning and hids cohorts have to keep up the good form.

I reckon we should beat the Swans in Melbourne, but they are tenacious and really well coached. If the boys let their concentration slip, Eade'll take full advantage.

Absolute must win this week with difficult games against Melbourne, Freo away and North coming up. They outplayed us and outflooded us last year (or was it the year before) at Colonial, so we must ensure we keep to the gameplan.

When the tall forward option failed last week Malthouse successfully turned to Holland Davis and Betheras. (Didnt win but the move was succesful) .We will need the same flexibility this week.

Also in our favour is the fact that Schauble and Williams play for the Swans.

Very well put cyclops, good to see some people actually having something intelligent to say about the game and not just bagging the opposition. This will be a lot closer than what a lot of people think, speaking as a swans supporter, I feel we are a much better side than our ladder position would suggest. If the swans can play like they did last Saturday night, I think they might just be able to get up and win this one.

Cheers

This is the sort of game we often lose - one we probably should win but we don't (remember the corresponding match last season and also against Kangaroos and Geelong - a disgrace!)

We don't seem to match up too well against Sydney for some reason, maybe we just can't adjust to their style of game well enough...

I'm looking for a big one from Rocca (he'll be keen to have a good match, I imagine) and Nicky (show the Swans what they'll be missing, as they seem to think they have him 'in the bag'), but it'll be interesting given all the stuff going on in Sydney lately regarding Eade. And I think Colonial is well suited to their game (and they have a fairly good record there, I believe) - more similar to the SCG than the MCG is (damn, I wish this game was at the G!)

I think you will find that Sydney ARE BACK, and every game from now on is absolutely critical to them making the 8.
They will look at the next two weeks (woods, then WCE in Perth) and say we have to win at least one. That one will be the woods.

Should be a cracker. Pity we wont see the much anticipated shoot out between Lockett and Cummings.
