GF coverage in Melbourne

At this stage, the TV guide has the coverage listed as 4:30 - 7:00, so basically that's just the pre-game and the NRL GF and that's it. Hopefully they'll stick around for the presentation if Melbourne win it! :eek:

But anyway, at this stage, no sign of them showing the Toyota Cup GF and Melbourne are in it! Would be great to see that shown in Melbourne. It would make a great afternoon for Melbourne Storm fans to see their team in both grand finals.

The NRL GF's also being shown live in SA and WA.

A few years ago the GF rated 900k in Melbourne and I believe Nine still cut off the presentation for a movie....

Would a 20 year old movie outrate the presentations for a GF that has just rated 900k? Even 500k?

Only in rugby league fear ridden Victoria I guess.
 
Common sense would dictate they run with a flexible schedule.

If Parramatta wins, they should cut straight to the news as nobody in Melbourne would want to watch the celebrations.

However, if the Storm win, one would hope that Nine would stick with the presentations as the audience watching is likely to be higher than what the news would attract.

It would be a big slap in the face for the Storm if they didnt, is CH9 down there really that callous towards League?
 
I wish Gyngall would go on TV and say why the under 20's wont be shown

ffs, all of nsw and qld get the whole day coverage of the afl they wont even show game:thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

We do ... Year after year after year. They ignore all efforts to get the game on live. Even when the game IS shown live such as Saturday night and rates well ... It won't make any difference.

We simply cannot control what Channel 9 do. It's up to the NRL to fight for us.

I'm relatively certain the Juniors final on Friday night was not shown in the northern states short of on ABCHD. Could be wrong though.
 
This is where we need fox to take over and broadcast games

if Storm wasnt playing, then yeh maybe not show it, but whats the hurt seriously

It's been known to happen before.


Trust me, someone sits at channel 9 with their finger on a button ready to switch the coverage - We've gone to movies that instant the final whistle is blown. The instant.
 
Yeah, I'd like to find the bloke with his finger on that switch - pretty sure we didn't see much of Manly getting the trophy last year, perhaps just hoisted it the year before when Melbourne won. It's only in the last few years Melbourne has managed to get Origin live. It used to get progressively later as the series went on - Game 1 would be 8:30, Game 2 9:30, Game 3 10:30.
 
instead of the Toyota Cup, some movie that was shown 4 weeks ago will be on instead

will be a absolute f**ng disgrace if Storm win and they don't show the presentation

TC is a 2.15pm kick off from memory. So i doubt a 4.30pm start will get the presentation.

Unless the State Cup GF goes for 15 bloody minutes overtime again like last year


My mate who I'm travelling with also seems to think 1st grade won't kick off until 5.18 ... (Yes he said 5.18 lol)
