With all but 2 team boards having one of their own as moderator, I reckon it's about time we pushed (again) for one of us to take the responsibilty off Bluey's hands.

"Team boards are for supporters of each team. Respect the team when you post on their board."

Try posting some of the crap we've seen this week about Geelong, it's players and supporters on the very well moderated North board and see how long it lasts. Not much respect in a lot of the recent posts.
This is our room in the Bigfooty house - and I for one don't want anyone bringing crap in on their shoes.
Have a look at other team boards and see how many posts anti- that team are allowed. I don't know, but I'm guessing that Bluey only reads the threads here when someone reports them - after all, why should he give a toss about Geelong?
Obvious trolls - I ignore them, but it's plain that not everyone can.

Once again, look at the statement -

"Team boards are for supporters of each team. Respect the team when you post on their board."

We should at least have a supporter of our team as moderator.

Thoughts?

Agreed completely.

And as much as anyone's "I agree" posts tend to look like suck-up attempts, but you've hit the nail right on the head. The trolling on these boards has gotten completely out of hand, it was out of hand a long time ago, and it needs to be dealt with in due course.

Now I'm not saying that Bluey isn't doing a good job with it, either on this board or across any of a variety of the boards. But he needs help, clearly, IMHO.

As for help in moderating, I PM'd Bluey a fortnight ago offering to be of some assistance, and knowing full well that the trolling was bound to be escalated as the season was starting. I haven't heard back from Bluey yet, but seeing how busy he is, I can understand why he may not have been able to get back to me.

And as Bluey has stated a goal of having two moderators per team board, and supporters of the relevant teams at that, I'm still genuinely interested in doing it. And I'm sure Darren is, too.

But for the time being, regarding the whole trolling issue, the best thing to do is not to respond whenever someone from the opposition comes over here just for the purpose of trolling, no matter how they wish to spin it. Remember, kids, don't feed the trolls-- that's what they live for... getting an absolute rise out of us. Don't give them the satisfaction.

We can. NorthBhoy was banned from our board some time back after trolling consistently, and Rocco's initial ****take was deleted.

I agree that we should have our own moderator, but the 'report post' button is still there and is pretty effective (usually acted upon within the hour).

Anyway, i'm off to the Dome to see the Pussies go around.

Cats by 23 with Ben Graham best afield.

I would still be interested in doing the job, but I'm not sure Bluey and the other moderators hold my posts in high enough regard to give me a chance.

We should definately have our own moderator, that's for sure!!

Ah yes well I think that is a very good idea, we should definately look into that.

Set for a Cat.

It has been a tough couple of years on the Cats’ board. Without any proper supervision, the board hasn’t really been moderated properly. I can recall a number of threads which should have been deleted, but hopefully we will not have to wait much longer. The Cats’ posters are good ones. Really good ones, in fact. And I believe the board is far too good to go without a moderator. The sooner we get a moderator, the better for everyone.

Suggestions have been thrown left, right and center. The majority of the votes, though, going to a 24-year-old lad from Boronia named ScouseCat, who deserves a chance at fame. The Geelong board needs it, too. It will be a safer world for everyone.

The keen Cats supporter had this to say about the possible circumstance.

“I love Footy. I love Geelong. I just want to be a part of them forever. If I get given the chance, I promise I will not let the Cats’ board down. I will know how to handle a situation that needs to be sorted out, and I will do my very and utmost best to make the Geelong board the best in the business.”

ScouseCat would make the Cats’ board a fantastic and very wonderful place. Inferno_03 also agrees.

“Look, apart from the time that I heard him swear for the very first time, he has not harmed a fly. He is a sensational young man. I promise to go on the Cats’ board more if ScouseCat becomes moderator.”

Ever since December 2002, ScouseCat has given his all to please everyone at Bigfooty. His daily contribution to the Cats’ board is phenomenal. The guy, as Inferno stated, couldn’t harm a fly. Without a doubt, ScouseCat has been there right from the start and never has a mean thing to say on Bigfooty. Being a moderator will be a mini stepping-key for ScouseCat before he comes premier of Victoria, just like the Cats supporter in Steve Bracks, and possibly even lead Australia into a new era, being Prime Minister.

“ScouseCat is very high in the ranks. He loves everyone. He is a lovely lad. I remember one night over a meal of Macaroni cheese when the man asked me if I thought he’d make a good moderator. Of course, I said yes. You would have to be an idiot to think Scousey wouldn’t be a good moderator”, X_box_X said.

The time has come for the Geelong board to join a new and better era. ScouseCat will make the board extremely user friendly. Scousey knows right from wrong. Scousey will not let you down. No way.
 
ScouseCat would be a great mod for his board, all the gerls/guys love him around here, would be a shame if you picked anyone else. Scousey for mod ! :)
