Training Giants Preseason for 2026.

Do I overrate Thomas? I think he’s going to be a key player moving forward. He’s been playing mainly as a lightweight teenager, it’s impressive he’s even managed to get many games. Imagine him at 24, he’ll be so damaging. His last 4 games of the year were excellent.

I think he is very handy player that will be important moving forward. I think it will be as a depth/role player at the bottom of the squad that will do is role.
IMO the likes of McMullen,Rowsten will be far more important. Much more hurt factor.
I think the big difference is the speed of their decision making.
Harvey is far more considered and safe.
That said he works hard on attack and defence and does all the little things right.

McMullen has more to prove than Thomas at this stage for mine. Muff has had some absolutely forgettable games in the last 12 months when he's come into the team.

Thomas has a better head, better ball use and positioning, understands his role as a link player... even if McMullen is a bit more athletic.

I don't really get the point of the State Of Origin apart from being a cash grab for the media deal. I'll definitely watch it but itll never have the venom that the NRL one has.

I'm of the impression that it's a do or die type of year, we have bolstered our depth and despite the disappointing finals exit we played far better in 2025 than we did in 2024.

I've been more excited because of our off season stuff which I just know will set me up for disappointment but come Opening Round...
