Do we really need two vice-captains though ??
This works better for me (gotta admit, I am old school about these things though) :
(c) Murphy
(vc) Gibbs
(dvc) Jamison
Well we have them now & I am all for it.
What is it you don't like about it?
The argument would be that by having multiple "leaders" with the same title, you effectively dilute the responsibility/accountability of the people who hold those positions. I dont mind having a leadership group of 5 or so, but tend to agree that it make sense to have a clear order of leaders, so when one isnt available, the responsibility moves to the next in line. Theres no ambiguity about it.What is it you don't like about it?

Socrates does not like this.Never answer a question with a question.
I'm a trailblazer like that
Matty Knights tried that in the final in Adelaide. Backfired spectacularlyFWIW, I think we should have no captain, just like we should have no dedicated ruckman and have a midfielder contest the ball up, but that's just meI'm a trailblazer like that

I'm pretty sure the original poster (not thread OP - but The Camel) was talking about having Gibbs as VC and Jamo as DVC or vice-versa. The point is just the concept of "co-captaining" is really one of ambiguity. No problem with that.
What happens when Murphy and VC is out though? That provides you more ambiguity I would have thought. You'd have to choose between 3 of your leadership group. At least now if worse comes to worse, we know where we stand.
Fair enough, each to their own. I for one have never heard of a 'DVC' but that's not to say it couldn't work.I'm pretty sure the original poster (not thread OP - but The Camel) was talking about having Gibbs as VC and Jamo as DVC or vice-versa.
