Disappointing! He would be handy for the crows this yr. He is a great competitor and always creates a contest. Lets hope it gets better soon!

I tried to start my own thread last night but obviously people don't trust me on this board yet.

I am really surprised we did not have more injuries come out of yesterday. What I saw on Channel 10 was an absolute disgrace. The boys were obviously sent on a long run (maybe time trial) and by the looks of them were pretty much dead on crossing the line. I can remember seeing the likes of Cook, Sellar and Douglas particularly being in distress.

Now I understand its pre-season. I also understand we want to start the season absolutely on top of the game. But to see those boys suffering in 40 degree heat was an absolute disgrace and poor management by the club.

I am a huge fan of Craig, his assistants and the Crows. But yesterday made me take a step back and I can see why we have injury curses if bodies are pushed that far! (we were lucky Gill was the only casualty from yesterday)

Mate their professional sportsmen being trained by professional fitness gurus. You think they are going to do anything that is going to damage their assets leading up to the start of the season? I think not. They know exactly what they are doing. I have no doubt they worked them hard, but they arent out there to break blokes. They would know the limits and they would be working as close as they can to them without crossing the line. The fact that none of them have broken down is testiment to that.

Took the words out of my mouth, spot on:thumbsu:

If it was 40 degrees at 8 am yesterday, then I am a dutchman!

Some players that needed to improve on their PBs were required to do a run in the morning before the training session. The run took place at 8 am in the morning. Hardly as drastic as you think ;)

alright, I didn't know it was a morning run...was a bit hard to tell that from a front bar of a Barossa Valley pub...lol.

HOWEVER, I still don;t get the push a fortnight from round 1. Ok, it may have only been 32 degrees at the time of the run but I still don't agree with it. Firstly, its so close to the first real game. Surely the fitness work is out of the way by now. And if its not, lets do it another way. Even the elite struggle with the weather we have been having of late. I am not an elite athlete, but I do understand a fair bit of the human chemical makeup and this heatwave takes it out of anyone - office job or not. I just think pushing people to the maximum during this hot spell is just poor management.

Again, just my opinion. But I won't be surprised if we have a few out with niggling injuries for round 1.

I can see where you are coming from and in the past its probably fair to say NC has flogged his players a bit hard, but, when teams have a week off before a grandfinal, they generally get flogged a week before, then have a quiet week leading up. With it being so hot over the weekend and i believe the players are getting the weekend off, some hard work before thebreak was required. Its been hot for the last ten days and the 5 coming are no better and the players need to be working hard and there is no getting round the weather. It had to be done
