i didnt care about the win, thats the bonus, the good thing is richards is NEVER EVER going to play again

edit. fine i cared about the win

Was at a mates place watching the game and had to speed home (about 5-10 mins away) at 3/4 time. Was listening to 3aw and loved rex's calls of YOUNG DIKC and SMALL COX!!

Good game the guys deserve the 10-day break. Heath Shaw was simply superb. Whenever the ball was there to be won he stood up and he used the ball well as well.

Burnsy killed it. Pendles showed class. Lockyer was good. Travis lead and presented well. Heck he even marked well just wished he hit targets.

We should spend the next couple of days doing some low intensity stuff - maybe goalkicking practice. We kicked 17 behinds and had 6 rushed for us.

Well Done to the Guys, although how much better would the score have been if we converted the 23 behinds - I am going to see Keiran Butler at the Carringbush tonight for his "Collingwood ruined my life" show - what a hoot this will be.

It was seen today, Didak could've been the only difference against the Eagles in round 2 and the only difference last week against Port.

We can so easily have been 4-0

I thought our pressure off the ball; tackling, bumping, shepherding and general harassing was really terrific today.

This side looks to have a bit of mongrel about it in that regard. Sometimes we are guilty of trying to finesse too much, especially with a lot of the short passing going in to the forward-50. But, like I said, this 'mongrel' is very pleasing considering our side is so young.

Our kicking for goal was abysmal though and it hasn't been flash for a while. Had we not supplied our forwards with so many opportunities perhaps our inaccuracy would have cost us the match. However, it didn't so go the 'Pies.

Great match!
Was a tight contest.
The backline was excellent holding down Llyod and Lucas.
After the first 5 minutes I was like oh shit! but the boys fought hard and got the win.
Cloke really picked up in the second half, really impressed me!
Heath Shaw = Future Captain (Enough said)
Burns played a great game coming off an injury
Didak played a great game after coming back from his knee reco kicking 3 goals and made his presents felt.
Rocca needs to work on his kicking good game none the less.
Rhyce Shaw keeps stepping up week in week out another great game.
Tarkyn had another beauty of a game, has really impressed me this year in every match.
Thomas played a fantastic game and just showed why people say he is going to be a superstar.
Rex Hunts call of the game was fantastic, one of his best
Great game on the whole
GO PIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a crap game. typical of two very ordinary teams that have coaches that are only interested in their superannuation. more mistakes than collingwood made after half time in 1970.
Thats what 90 000 fans look like buddy. Pity Carlton will never be able to draw that many again, stop dreaming of the old days when Carlton could play. Guess what the old days are now? Dreaming of when your Captain wasn't the joke of the comp. Honestly they are gone for at least another decade. It would be good if they got the arse, remember when Collingwood agreed to a charity match for you guys on new years 2000? Only time I ever thought Eddie was wrong, should have let the rabble sink, but then we wouldn't have the days of our lives entertainment we all so love now.

The pressure we displayed all game was some of the best I've seen from the Pies.

Rhyce and Heath Shaw seem to be challenging each other to reach higher levels. Going gangbusters.

Kicking for goal wasn't great but better it happened during a win then in a tight 1 we might have lost. But don't forget Dids kicked 2 through the eye of a needle and Medders will make a big difference there. He does kick straight.

Don't forget your umbrella at AAMI to protect you from 'Urine in a cup'. Classy people.

i didn't start this argument but let me just ask you a few questions..
Were u drawing fans of 90,000 in 2000 when you guys struggled let alone we have been struggling for years now so i don'texpect us to reach that amount of fans yet. I doubt any club can reach that many after being smack bottom for 5 consecutive years, which brings me back to that millenium game back then on new years eve, who won? Was it the blues by over 100 points with fev kicking 12? A decade staying as a laughing stock... yep thatll be right, but do we not have the 2nd youngest list in the comp? Murphy Gibbs Walker Simpson Thornton Waite Fisher,O'hailpin, bentick betts carrazo etc.. theyve all established themselves but please give me a list of young guns (beside heath shaw who is awesome) that have allready established themselves. Fraser Shaw Thomas and Cloke can't win a premiership on their own.

Your view of "established" footballers is somewhat different than mine. Betts may have established himself in Carlton's weekly 22....but he has done absolutely nothing of note...a goalsnaek that never sneaks goals....would not be in any other teams best 22 and probably not make many other teams list. Jarrod Waite is 24, he is not a kid. He is an athlete that shows rare flashes but is a turnover waiting to happen on the backline and can't kick straight enough to put in front of goals (Fischer applies here also).......O'hailpin, great athlete, great competitor, can't play (yet!)......Carazzo/Bentnick...ho hum, nothing special......Walker and Simpson are showing signs and would consider established (Walker's skills are improving but they had to).......Murphy shows all the signs and I think will be a gun (see also Gibbs).......Thornton; you had to overpay a guy who had his ass constantly kicked for 4 season straight. And before I hear the cries of being played out of position...since when does gettting your ass kicked on a weekly basis because you are undersized qualify you as a good player? Maybe he will become decent when left to play on a flank...maybe not!

So really....from this group you probably have 2 1/2 established players in Walker and Simpson (Thornton is your half est player...he's 23 also)........2 future stars in Murphy and Gibbs, although not guaranteed (more than likely)......and a bunch of kids that may or may not be around when Carlton see finals football again.

These kids are no better than other clubs. They are no better than Shaw (established player....borderline star of the league) Thomas, Pendlebury (2 future stars, although not guaranteed....more than likely), O'Brien, Cloke, Cox, Dick, Toovey, Reid, Anthony, Brown, Dawes, Egan, Goldsack, Rusling, Wellingham, Stanley or Nicholls.....a bunch of kids looking to make their way!!!!!

You guys only rave about them because that is all you got....hope for the future as the present and recent past is too much to deal with.
