Don't know how reliable this rumour is, but i heard from a friend, that they heard that they saw goddards management talking to carlton. Is goddard coming out of contract at the end of the year and if so could their be any truth in this rumour???
 
we will have to give up our first round pick in the draft if they accept it but it is worth it

him and walker would be our future if we get the nod from the saints

Carlton's hierarchy will be talking to Goddard's management towards the end of the year to see what he wants and tell him what we can offer. Yes, he has barracked for the Blues all his life until Black Friday.

I wouldn't put too much hope on it, however, it's not like pre-draft days when you could just poach a player willy-nilly pretty much for the right price.

Unfortunately there is only one way of being gauranteed of getting him - finishing last & having pick 1 & pick 1 in the PSD & getting him ala Nick Stevens - & that is assuming he does want to switch to Carlton - GOD WILLING !!!!
 
It might be time to do the "old";

I want to go to Carlton and if anyone else thinks of drafting me via the pre-season draft, SEE YOU IN THE COURTS, :D

Time for Carlton to put the AFL back in it's place, but that's at the end of the year and not now.:)

Yes but the cub has the ability to offer a player a longer contract if they see fit..........Goddard was offered a 3-year deal but turned it down......read into it what you want?
 
Sadly he'll be a saint for life. Can't blame him, not his fault, he wanted to come to us remember. Would cut off me right arm to get him to Carlton but it just won't happen i reckon.
 
st kilda will have trouble keeping their current list together and will also face salary cap troubles, especially when they are offering 4 & 5 year contracts

perfect opportunity for us to pounce and get Goddard

But they will probably want a high first round pick and we will probably get a high pick and i don't think Denis will trade it for Goddard. He will probably be one of the first they try to sign aswell.

IMO the only way we would get him is by coming last and picking him up via the PSD and i don't see that happening.
 
I don't think the saints are as stupid as Port.

If Goddard wants out and he wants us, the saints will be the ones coming up second best if they're going to trade. I don't think they'd be as arrogant as Port to walk away with nothing.

This is of course assuming that there is anything to be done at all. He seems content where he is.
 
I wonder what the chances are that Goddard wont be signing with the Saints until he talks to us. ;)
Long way to go but dont worry too much sleep over this one till after the end of the season.Things might get interesting
 
I reckon he has struggled this year. Not saying he is no good but like Luke Hodge at Hawthorn he has hardly set the world on fire. I have seen him jib the hard ball on a few ocassions. I would prfer Luke Ball or Nick Dal Santo.

i think out of the top 3 picks in recent years Judd has easily been the best

ball has been good

hodge and goddard okay but nothing too special

cooney has had a solid start and will improove....

since this is a carlton board can someone plz tell me if your played you got for pick 4 has played yet.....you did have pick 4 right?
 
pick 4 in this years draft was farren ray by the western bulldogs and prob wont get a game this year cause he has a very slight frame but will prob bulk up in the off season
