As for the compo, will be around the same as Bullies got for Ward.

I'd hope not. Ward is 4 or 5 years younger, and I can't imagine Goddard would get a lot more money than Ward is currently on. Goddard's never won a B&F or anything either.
They can't deviate from their strict guidelines which they determined everyone elses compo from. Would be a joke.

Saints would get more from a trade, imo.

Freo/Rossy can outbid the Saints, who have had problems with the salary cap in recent years.

I'm long in the tooth & can remember WA players who had signed to play in Vic in the 60s & 70s but had to play out the year in the WANFL (as it was back then) - they got no fun out of playing just as BJ is right now.

Mark it down, Freo is where Goddard is going, going for finals glory.

Who apart from Pav would be on big money at Freo? Maybe Sandilands ... but his injury puts a huge question mark over his future or at least a pay cut.

Freo could do it easily - Get rid of Anthony & Bradley & maybe an overpaid Munday.

Cloke & Goddard would give them one mighty strong here & now list - fits in with the Lyon philosophy. Makes perfect sense.

I think Saints should let him go and take some compo picks. He's 27, forms diminishing and St Kilda are on the slide. Got some handy young types coming through another couple would come in handy in the long run.
