Anyone else looking forward to this?
The director's other movie Casshern (2004) was pretty good I thought. Along with being visually stunning, it unexpectedly had a ok story, though a little hard to follow at times, but was not just all out action like it looked in the trailers.
IIRC, Casshern, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, and Immortel (and Sin City which came out later than those) were the first movies to be made with completely CGI sets and real actors. Casshern and Sin City were the best of them I thought, so will be interesting to see how the director has progressed after 5 years.
Don't know if Goemon will come out here or not, but like Hero and House of Flying Daggers, Casshern was out on dvd in Asia maybe a year or so before it got to Australia IIRC, although, Goemon looks to be getting a US theatrical release this year, so I guess there's a chance it'll come here earlier.
