Did anyone read Peter Goers column in todays Sunday Mail. It's seems the PAFC gets abit of success and all the termites crawl out of the wood work. Do the PAFC and it's supporters have a chip on their shoulder or what?? All very sad..

Yes, I almost choked on my corn flakes when I read that article.

I wish it was on-line somewhere, so we could share the man's confusion.

"It was a real victory for the real SA Football Club and the real people ... It was an historic, classic game which united SA - even the Johnny-come-lately also-ran Crows supporters who are all now barracking for the greatest and most successful football team in the history of the game."

Yeah, right. :p

Goers occasionally has some interesting things to say about Adelaide's social landscape. His intentions are generally honourable, despite his superiority complex.

Today, however, he simply came across as a ********ing idiot.

Very embarrassing stuff. :o

I pay as much attention to his artricles as the likes of Rebecca Wilson. ie. Never read them! Is it just me, but I find him a complete wierdo. Not my cup of tea.

When I was a kiddie I attended a breakfast at McDonalds followed by a lock-in at Tilt sponsored by the Hindley Street Police for Cystic Fibrosis and Canteen.

A few Adelaide celebs turned up, Kerrod Walters, Peter McInytre, Paul Geister, Rod Reddy and Peter Goers. Goers stood there looking awkward as all hell with a tray of hash browns offering them to all and sundry in his trademark upper-class accent.

Twas both funny and disconcerting.

I would be concerned that Goers was around the kiddies, as not really the normal family man.

the point is that it's all true. but I'll let Kristof kick off if he wants to.

Look, neither of C-M or I even live in Australia any more, but we grew up in Adelaide, and Goers was pretty notorious in the "arts community". We have a very close friend who was pretty young when he was "propositioned" at a party at Goers. And I'm sure C-M would say that propositioned is a very kind way of putting it.

Look, they guy is fine. Creepy, but not necessarily doing anything bad. If you're a gay guy in Adelaide, I suppose that's what it's like.

Goers' Sunday Mail column is generally written to provokoe a reaction

No doubt that he is a Port man through and through though.

The view that one team can be the greatest without other teams to compete against always amuses me.
