He's worth a punt in that he can't be any worse than Carroll, and is bound to be cheaper.

Bit surprised that he was delisted to be honest.

Most definetly worth a late pick. He is 21 and came over to us as a tight checking, spoiling FB that wouldn't get a kick but would keep his opponent without one as well. He did an exceptional job to transform his style so dramatically in such a small time frame. He can definetly make it but still has a couple of flaws in his game.

The reason we delisted him is that we are stocked with key defender types. We have Rutten at FB who has shown a lot in the second half of the year, standing big name players and doing very bell on them. We have Ken McGregor as our rock CHB, we have Bassett as a 3rd tall and we still have Bock, Smith and Scott Stevens who can play there. Apart from Bassett (27) the others are all 23 or under. Really the only reason we delisted him was that he was a surplus to our needs.

Craig wanted to promote only 1 rookie so it was between Smith and Parker. He admitted it was a very close call but Smith's rate of improvement this year has been astronomical and as such he gets the nod. Might have also helped that Smith is bigger than Parker and a bit more versatile.

You can do a lot worse than pick up Parker with your late pick if in fact he is still available. Wouldn't be surprised if he is gone by then.

Streak, just because a player is delisted that is not necessarily evidence he is a hack and can't play. Plenty of players (Peter Bell) have snubbed their nose at that Theory. Stiffy's explanation of his delisting siggests he could be of value to us.

Seriously, I don't understand why some people see a WA player come out of contract or delisted that we should have a jump at them.

The Bulldogs have delisted Lochlan Veale, he must be good as he was drafted by them for pick 6 or something wasn't he.
