Having finished 10th in the 2021-22 season, Gold Coast now have National Draft picks 13, 31, 49, 67, 85, 103, 121, having accounted for the expansion teams. These are picks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 in the Queensland state draft.

What do they need to focus on during the sign and trade period? Or do they take the picks to the draft?

List concessions are in:
Gold Coast can pre-sign up to four mature-age (born prior to 2004) players who have previously nominated for the NAB AFLW Draft. The Suns have also received an end-of-second-round compensation pick (currently No.49 nationally, No.3 in Queensland)

Gold Coast now have picks 19, 49, 53, 69, 87, 105, 123 and can sign four mature-age players (born pre-2004) who have previously nominated for the draft.

Gold Coast has won five (and two draws) from its 26.

Have signed Georgia Clayden, Gabrielle Biedenweg-Webster and Krystal Scott through their list concessions so far, which allows them to sign four mature age players who have previously nominated for the draft.

Yesterday: Pregelj and Groves-Little not offered contracts for Season 8

GC SUNS make AFLW list changes

The Gold Coast SUNS have informed defender Jade Pregelj and small forward Tori Groves-Little that they will not be offered contracts for the upcoming AFLW season.

Pregelj, one of the club’s foundation AFLW players, played 19 games over four seasons for the club following a seven-year hiatus from the sport after joining the Australian Defence Force and was a previous member of the SUNS leadership group.

SUNS Academy product Groves-Little debuted for the SUNS in Round 5, 2020 before going on to play 11 matches for the club, kicking four goals.

In 2021, they also announced themselves as the first non-binary athlete in the AFLW, paving the way for others to follow their stead.

“Jade has been a fantastic servant for the club having returned to the top level in 2020,” GC SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago said.

“We are forever grateful for the dedication she showed to the club after returning to the sport whilst also balancing commitments with the Australian Defence Force.

“Tori has been part of the SUNS fabric for a long time having risen through our Academy ranks and being part of our inaugural squad in 2020.

“On behalf of the GC SUNS, we would like to thank both Jade and Tori for their time at the club and wish them well in their next chapters.”

GOLD Coast forward Courtney Jones is requesting a trade back to Victoria for family reasons.

The 22-year-old is understood to have been very happy at the Suns and was initially planning to stay on, but her family has come first in this particular situation.

Jones started her career at Carlton, making her debut in her third season on the list and playing nine games for eight goals in season six.

She then moved to Gold Coast for season seven, once again booting eight goals from nine matches.

The Suns will work to find a suitable home via a trade for Jones.

Richmond, though, is expected to lose Brancatisano with the promising 22-year-old midfielder hoping to move to Gold Coast next month. The Tigers had been aiming to retain the player, and offered her a new contract, but it was rejected.

Any potential trade could see the Demons collect the No.2 pick in among a series of other selections swapping hands

I get GC have academy prospects to work with, but that would be absolute charity.

Presumably means downgrading pick 2 for Melbourne's pick 10, but still not worth it considering how poor Mithen was this year. They need to bring in more LEADERS, not passengers.

Doesn't help that their Captain has requested a trade
