1st quarter we were far too slow moving it forward

West Coast didn't even try to win the game today
Tippett was pretty bad, but Porps stepped up

Agree about WC. Anaemic effort. But I thought Tippet was pretty good, myself. Some great second efforts and some good ground work.

I'd put Maric in the "good". This guy is improving every week.

Disagree, he did some very good things, looked hampered by an ankle injury in the 2nd quarter but still split a few packs and set Dougie up for a goal whilst kicking his own.

Craigy was saying on the radio that teams often don't get blown out the water in the first quarter (barring last week). Might have something to do with the opposition trying to silence the crowd a bit, or both teams putting 100% pressure on each other because its only the first quarter and they should not be running out of puff.

Apart from what others have mentioned on here:

The Good:
- Douglas played his best game in a long time. Only 15 touches but generally looked a lot more alert and more effective with his kicking. 2 goals was handy as well.
- Otten returned to some good form. WCE were pretty poor but Andy looked super composed out there.

The Bad:
- Umpiring shite as usual.
- Edwards seemed off his game. 30 touches but looked uncharacteristically fumbly out there.

The Ugly:
- Hentschel's fitness is still a worry (looked super sharp in the first half but could barely run in the second).

Yeah, for anyone at the ground, what happened here?

The commentators were to busy looking at magazines of Juddy in it to see and the camera was fixed elsewhere so I couldn't see all 3 umps.

Did someone hold in our forward line forcing a reverse, or something to that effect?

EDIT: Thanks Punchy. pfft that's a rubbish call. Oh well, it wasn't as attrocious as last week, but that HTB against Maric late was a laziness decision by the ump.

No it wasn't, the atmosphere was well down from some games this year. Barring the wave, we lacked atmosphere yesterday at the game.

Still interests me, the number of conflicting highs and lows from any game. Few games go 100% your way.

This was an excellent win, regardless. It doesn't cover up or mask anything that the whole football world doesn't already know.

Eagles came with a defensive mindset - the 18 man flood bobbing up often, in the first half particularly, yet we still belted them by over 12 goals - our deadset proven bogey side. The crows were awesome at times.

If we were odds-on favourites for the flag, you'd still have to be happy with a 12 goal flogging. How can anyone not be happy with that?
