Good:

A win to keep us in touch with 8 (no point missing finals and bottoming out)
Crouch
Danger :hearts:
Jacobs was 2012 version
Laird
Smith's bets game this year
JOM is a gun
VB's 2nd half
Porps
Wright the super sub
I passed 10K posts during the game :D

Bad:

Still some silly mistakes
VB's first half
Vince still too lazy

Ugly:

Reilly getting injured inside first 2 mins

Big test next week against WC

How is west coast a big test they are shite and will mean nothing if we beat them

They had their press working as good as they have all year on Thursday night and we suck under pressure.

Have no doubt it will be tough

The good:

-Crouch - Amazing what the kids will show when you back them
-Laird - One if my favs. Can he move into the midfield rotations next year
-Jacobs - Sensational
-Otten
-Lynch - Will not be a star but will be handy player.
-Danferfield- When is he contracted to

The Bad:
-Not an Afl footballer
-Van Berlo - Worst captain in our history.

Good:

Laird is a gem. Very underrated. Reliable and calm. Deserves a rising star nomination
Lynch works very hard and presents well.
Wright worked through pain and did well
Dangerfield is a champion in the truest sense of the word.
I love Sloane.
VB stuck to what is really his only role. Ablett go hold of him at times but VB kept battling
Porps - much better today - almost back on track, just fumbling that little bit too much
Crouch. I'd still like to give him a set role on the HBF, but he is going to be a great player.
O'Meara is brillinat
Ablett is a genius

Bad:

Defensive press is very ordinary at times.
Took a blast from the coach to really get going

Ugly:

Do our midfielders understand that there are two ends to the ground? We seem to only run one way
Thompson - I've said for a long time that I don't rate him. From what I saw today, I can only hope he is injured. Seems to be out of it at the moment.

Good:

Danger
Laird
Smith
Sauce
Mini Sauce
VB tagging ( just play him as a tagger)
Wright
Porps marking
Crouch, 2nd best kid from last year

Bad:

Reilly getting injured
Prestia shitting his shorts and nobody wanting to go near him
Sumner playing on (LOL)
Hendo. Never been a fan but enough is enough, he won't commit to any physical contest, has poor disposal and had his pants pulled down to many times this year. We have better on our list than him and if he won't start committing to the team and the ethos of contested footy, just get rid of him. His short steps to the marking contest between Prestia and Sloane is a concern.

Ugly:

Vinces haircut. You know when you get a haircut and they use a mirror to show you how the back looks? Bet they didn't do that with Vince

Good:
Laird
Wright
Smith
Porps
Danger
Rutten
Crouch

Bad:
Vince
Brown makes me nervous
Jenkins is stagnant

Ugly:
Campbell Brown. What a ****ing tool. Trying to injure Laird at every opportunity. Or anyone that layed a tackle on him. How dare they! I'm sure it makes you feel big trying your hardest to floor young kids Campbell (even if you failed in every attempt) shit bloke who needs to retire and never be heard from again . You're a ****wit.

Hendo had 24 touches at 88% DE, 9 marks, and rebounded well from defense as the loose man. How in any sense of the word is that a bad game? It's probably his best game this season.

Jacobs, Danger, Crouch, Laird, Smith all very good. Porps, Lynch and Jenkins all worked well together today.

VB was great back in his pure midfield tagging role, which is where he should always play!

Wrighty with 4 goals after starting as the sub is a great return to form.

-Danferfield- When is he contracted to

The Bad:

-Van Berlo - Worst captain in our history.

Surely you jest. He was pretty much our worst for me.

Yep how anyone can say he was bad today is beyond me. He was SENSATIONAL. Kicking was sublime, running ability was important. He needs to be considered best 22 if we are to climb back up the ladder next year.

Ugly:

Vinces haircut. You know when you get a haircut and they use a mirror to show you how the back looks? Bet they didn't do that with Vince

Wrong. He was one of our best today. Not sure what game you were watching.

Good:
- Overall much better effort from the whole team
- Porps - Seriously cant understand people who were saying hes past it at 28??? Had to work hard to bring his match fitness back up to afl level and its paying dividends now. looking back to his best almost. Such a an important player for our forward line when hes going.
- Jenko's game sense and where to lead looked a lot better today, still needs a bit of work but hes certainly getting there
- Riley is most certainly a player for the future and i would be devastated if we let him slip through our fingers. Competes hard, and is surprisingly a decent user of the ball + makes good decision
- Laird is so composed for <10 game player.... great pickup
- Henderson, wow!!! actually had confidence in his ability and wasnt afraid to take the game on. I saw him named at FF at was stoked, but then saw him back in our D50 again and shat myself. But he was very impressive today. If he keeps backing himself in like he did today then we should see the best of him week in and out.
- As much as VB wasnt great, he still limited Abletts influence. Ablett had a great first quarter, but to VB's credit he reeled him in and Ablett despite getting 30 touches, didnt do too much else after qtr time.
- Commentators said today that when we go forward through lynch we score 76% of the time. quite impressive. hes a great link man to have transitioning from midfield to forward.
- Wright for coming on and playing through the pain to kick 4.
- and last but not least danger

Bad:
- Thompson looked lazy and disinterested today. Probably demolished expansions sides enough for one career ;)
- That moment when Sloanne hyperextended his knee. my heart was in my mouth. I was ready to curl up into a little ball and die right there
- Vince looked back to his lazy ways :\
- As good as Bronw and Laird were, they did however let their opponent get away from them at times, need to tighten up a bit.

Ugly:
- Our defensive work through the midfield at times is still shocking. Quite a few times GC had runners everywhere. seriously need to work on our pressure on both the ball carrier and free players in the off season.
- A few times where we bombed it long hurriedly when there was clearly nothing on, even to a 3v1 at some stages. need to eradicate this habit completely. We look such a better side when we actually use the ball well and think about our decision going forward. so frustrating to see us bomb it high and long without thinking, espeically with no Tippett and Walker there.

- On a side note, Tippett dominating last night. Once you see them play well for another team, it seriously kicks in as to how big of a loss he was. He was probably the best wet weather ball handler out there and hes 200+cm. Tippett y u do dis :'(

Ha not even worthwhile these GBU's are a shocker already...Jenkins stagnant in one of his best games.. Otten couldn't of been slower trailing to every contest.
Hendo was one of our best, he isn't going to win every contest......people don't even watch the game they just go in looking for what they want to see.

Hendo. Never been a fan but enough is enough, he won't commit to any physical contest, has poor disposal and had his pants pulled down to many times this year. Yeah agreed. I imagine some will point to his possession count and say he had a good game. To be fair he looked okay in the last quarter chipping it around when Gold Coast were out on their feet.

But some of his defensive efforts were painful to watch. The worst one was where Gold Coast grubbed it into 50 to a Hendo v Day contest. Day picked it up and turned around as if Hendo wasn't even there... Hendo could have crunched him but instead tried to tackle with outstreched arms grabbing at Day's waist. He will get exposed big time against good teams, like he was against Sydney.

The game should have been closer. Gold Coast were very wasteful, especially in the second quarter where the game was won. I still don't think we're in contention for finals - we'll need to do better than eking out close wins against the likes of Brisbane and Gold Coast.

Special mention to O'Meara. Holy shit. New favourite player.

Good:

Jacobs was back to his best, carved them up.
Dangerfield was.. Dangerfield.
Crouch, Smith, Henderson, Laird, Jaensch all very good.
Porplyzia showed a heck of a lot more than he has been so far this season.
Riley, Wright. Liked their toughness today. Sloane was pretty good as well.

Bad:

Scott Thompson. Need a lift from him if we are to win enough games to play finals.
Otten. Made a lot of errors and got beaten by his opponent on numerous occasions. Sam Shaw?

Ugly:

Reilly not getting a chance to prove himself.

I hate Henderson as a 1-1 defender, but he did well filling in for Reilly down there.

Good to see some good form from Porps and Wright and for Crouch to show why he was picked. Laird impressive also.

Oh and another Ugly:

JAENSCH - Grigg with 31 disposals halfway through the 4th again. NEEDS to come in for him.

Still lots to do but finally some run from halfback via Smith and Laird.

Hate to say it after a good career, but if Thompson isn't carrying an injury then he's ugly this year. Just can't run so doesn't impact at all if the ball's outside a 2m radius. He was moved of Prestia far too late.

Maybe so but they have improved during the past few weeks. The big test really comes for the Crows to win and stay in contention for the 8. So yes it is a big test ....of character

Yep how anyone can say he was bad today is beyond me. He was SENSATIONAL. Kicking was sublime, running ability was important. He needs to be considered best 22 if we are to climb back up the ladder next year.

Agreed. love watching him run off the HBF with the ball. He can kick it long or he can pass it accurately. His long kicking from the wing to the goals at times is just great to watch. He played a good game today

- Thompson looked lazy and disinterested today. Probably demolished expansions sides enough for one career ;)
Funny you should say that.. he "only" had 21 disposals today. He's averaged 38 per game in his previous encounters with GC. Down by almost 50% on his long term average.

Mind you, I think the opposition has improved an awful lot since the time when he used to beat up on them regularly.

Good: we had a win
Bad: we weren't convincing
Ugly: Our defensive run through the middle just letting the suns run without pressuring them. Our kicking into the 50mtrs we were either over kicking the ball or under kicking it.

Whilst I hate to say this as I am a fan of Radar in one way it was good having an injury. It forces Sandersons hand. Perhaps getting a few injuries throughout the year is a good method of developing our youngsters. Just look at Collingwood. They are continually uncovering talented youngsters.

Good
Coming back from that awful 1st quarter, where our ball use was positively terrible.
Dangerfield & VB combining to limit Ablett's influence on the game.
Wright - 4 goals and our best player, after coming on as the substitute only minutes into the game.
Jenkins - never stopped presenting.
Crouch, Smith & Laird - all very good performances by the youngsters
Porps - best game for the year, hopefully an indicator of good things to come

Bad
VB's kicking efficiency, particularly in the first half.
Vince - one of his worst games for the year.
Talia - well beaten.

Ugly
Reilly's injury, particularly so early in the game.
Goal Reviews - they reviewed ours 3 times, only once did they come up with the correct result (JJ juggling the mark over the line). At least they didn't waste half an hour calling for the review this time.

Non-Entities
Riley - did a couple of good things, a couple of bad things, didn't get enough of the ball to really have an influence one way or the other.

Danger, Crouch and Laird very good. Almost a break out game for Crouchy :thumbsu:

vB picked it up later on after stinking it up early, keeps his spot ;)

Worst for mine were Jaensch, Thompson, Otto, Vince.
