Can't see it happening for 3-4 years minimum, but maybe you'll get lucky.

But I was told this after huge retirements around 2002 then we won the flag in 2005. We then lost Kirk, O'Loughlin, Hall, Leo Barry, Bolton etc in the space of a couple of years and won again in 2012.

Teams regenerate. It's not a simple matter of the veterans retiring and some untried kids taking over. I guess I consider the Swans to be a pretty well run footy club.

Geelong have been up for 6 years, no reason teams can't do it if they recruit and plan well enough.

Last year Geelong finished outside the top 4 in the home-and-away season.
