Or Mr Tumnus as he was affectionately known in our family.

Glad to see Farren Ray has found a new home in the Rookie Draft, was disappointed that we de-listed him to begin with.

Divided Saints supporters as far as his value to the team was concerned, but I always thought he was a pretty decent player, very good mark overhead, pretty good disposal, not a whole lot wrong with his game.

Thanks for the service, you will be missed!

Yep all the best Faz.

I remember comparing him to Jimmy Bartel early days because he was good all over the park and was an amazing mark for his size.

Obviously didnt hit the elite peak of Jim Bob but he was a better player than most gave him credit for.

If North do make it through I hope Farren is a big part.

Good luck! Hope you get the chance to play the finals again at North!

Was a little bummed Faz didn't get picked up by the Saints as a rookie... would have been happy to even have him back as a dog for a while - best of luck to him at his third home.

Thanks for your service Faz, very underrated player for us during your time with the Saints. Disappointed to see you go but good luck with North.

He gave away a 50m in the 1st 2010 GF for not handing the ball back which gifted the Pies 6 points.
But hey, I'm nearly over it :drunk:
Yeah but if he did hand the ball back quicker and didn't give away that 50, we may have lost the game
Causality and all that ;)

Always liked Farren as a Saint (can't say I paid much attention while he was at the Dogs). You can back him in to mark the ball more often than not, plays much taller than he looks on the field. His time at the Saints has passed but I hope he gets a chance with the seniors at the Roos, he will serve them well.

His new club seems like a good fit for him, glad he gets to play on, he was a good and loyal Saint and will have a favourable place in our history and always a place in our family.

Good on ya Faz thanks for your service.

Ironic that (due to kids like Webster, Acres, Billings, White and Dmac) he was going to be fringe at best with us if he played next year. Yet he was rookied by a finals contender and will probably play 15+. Victim of development but thank you Faz for your time as a Saint.

Was a terrible error, but from memory he played a crucial role in us getting back in it with his tagging role on Swan I think it was?

Can't confirm that it was Swan as I'm nowhere near ready to watch the replay:cry::cry:

Thanks Faz. I recall being pleased when we picked him up, and surprised by the negatives some of my mates felt. They changed their minds pretty quickly with those gutsy marks.

Are you indicating that you may conceivably watch the replay one day. I've watched the 97 tape, and glimpses of the 04/05 prelim losses, but 09/10 GF's are way off limits for a long while yet. When we finally win one I will sitdown and have an all nighter with all of the above, and will be all better without having paid a therapist a cent.

He tagged Swan out of that game in the second half.

Farren is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, he always came and over chatted and was a real asset to the Saints. I hope he gets to play in another premiership with North, he's an underrated player and one of those guys who put back more than he takes. He genuinely loves the football club environment and is a team man. North did well to get a player like Faz for free.

Always had a soft spot for Farren, mainly because of the way Eade treated him.

Probably a victim of his draft selection. If he was pick 30, people's expectations would have been different and he would have been considered a steal/

Either way, he gave the club excellent bang-for-bucks and is a courageous player. Nearly got destroyed by Watters but clawed his way back into the 22.

I wish him well at North and as others have posted, if they go deep into finals, I hope he is a part of it. He has got the most out of himself.

To me, the mark of a real champion is a player who can look back at his career and know that he gave it everything.

Thanks Farren, you'll always be a Saint for me.

Have seen bits of 09 and it still makes me sick to the stomach.

I watch the draw a fair bit and can enjoy it somewhat knowing it was GF day and we didn't sh#t the bed as usual. I haven't and never will watch the replay. That was crushing.
