Yet another close contest between us, getting to become a pattern. Was a good atmosphere tonight and the Collingwood supporters around us were very nice.

Keep the chin up, you have some good players to come back into the side, just weren't switched on tonight, it happens. Hard to be up every week. Best of luck for the rest of the year, would much rather sides like North and Collingwood make the finals ahead of sides that haven't beaten anyone of note. Need to keep the bastards honest!

Yeah just mucking around ... to be honest though I've never been a fan of "sportsmanship" between supporters after a game. Good luck to North though as long as you're not playing us.

If you are going to do one thing right then that one thing is recruitment, we have typically been able to put in a lot of very good young players on the list without access to a lot of great picks.

Guys like Urquhart, Thomas, Campbell, McMahon, Ross, Goldstein who played tonight have been taken without great picks in the draft in recent years or have progressed via the rookie system.

Get some good kids on the list and you will always be competitive. Since we focused more on junior development, and chained up Laidley during trade week, our fortunes have turned around somewhat, we have a great bunch of kids at the club now, it is our real strength.

You are absolutely right. It is something Collingwood have always struggled to get right. The beauty about North's youngsters is that they haven't been hyped up like Collingwoods, as alluded to by Dean Laidley after the first game this year. North obviously prefer players who kick the ball well. We tend to like those with poor kicking skills, keeps our supporters on the edge of their seats when we manage to get the ball.
