I'm happy for him. The last 2 months he's been looking pretty dangerous up forward and taking big marks and kicking well for goal. He kept showing potential with us although he had a few injuries over his first 4 years. Being thrown into defence alot and stints at FF and CHF he never had stability. He was still dominating at Coburg last year with some bags but he needed a change. A very capable player and now getting confidenc, stabililty and consistency and still only 25 years old? He probably feels better back at home in SA too. I hope he has another few good years at Port

He would fit in perfectly right now giving Jack some help. But at the time we made the the right choice in trading him.

I don't think many Tigeds begrudge Schulz, it seems a genuine case of things not panning out. 25 goals so far from 12 games, he would not have kicked 3 in his first 4 due to playing quite high up on the ground.

Sitting at home waiting for a strong Tiger performance. I haven't seen much of the tigers for a few weeks but I am suprised Nahas has been dropped for a match in the wet.

Possible trade at the end of season? My left nut for Martin?

All the best guys.

You can have Nahas if you want, Also why would we want one of your testicles for Martin:cool: i got my MT going.

I've been told I have no credibility on this board for saying we should of kept Shulz. I would of loved to see him play under the guidance of Hardwick. Just another player Wallace yo yo'd in and out of the did forward and back.

Port have jagged a player but it appears Farmer is going to turn out for us as well. Good to see them both playing some solid football

I begrudge him he was too lazy and selfish to put in week in week out for the jumper he simply didnt care in the end and id be shocked if he cements a spot ever in an afl side

Hit the nail on the head. He has bulk talent and maybe just couldnt get it together under Wallace. We still dont know who the player Dimma wanted to keep was, maybe it was Sarge?

One of those trades where it just works out well for everyone concerned.
Wallace screwed Schulz big time by trying to turn him into a defender.
I wish him well at his new club.
And just quietly our boy Mitch Farmer is a beauty.:thumbsu:

Schulz is finally being played in the correct position and it's paying off. We ****ed around with him playing him forward, back, forward, back and that was the end of it.

I love watching Schulz play. I hope he has a great career.

Good luck to Sarge. Wasn't working out with Richmond but it seems like the trade was good for both sides. Love Farmer and Nason.

Enjoy watching him play aswell but it would be harder if the same development process that couldnt get a capable big forward to produce was still at the club.

Lets hope the next Jay Shulz doesnt need to be offloaded.

I was barracking for Port,Rodan and Shulz yesterday and wanted Danny Myers to do well but Ive seen so little of him for Richmond, I dont recognize him on television.

Couldn't have said it better myself, a very lazy player who will do what he did on the weekend once in a blue moon. Can't understand all the love for a player we invested so much into and returned very little.

I cant find the article online, but I read an article about Shulz several weeks ago where he spoke about his time at Richmond, and the start of his time at Port. I'm not sure if you guys were aware but he was having quite a few issues off filed in relation to personal confidence etc, to the point he is regularly seeing a psychologist. Apparently he was having a lot of issues dealing with trying to keep himself up, ie if he played a good game he struggled to enjoy it and was putting too much pressure on himself to follow it up.

Basically a case of getting too down on himself having to deliver to the point he was his own worst enemy. Getting too worked up about having to play well, and then when he would play a good game, getting even more worked up about having to back it up.
Perhaps this was contributing to his inconsistency at Richmond ?

Sounds like the normal pressure applied to all our players.... I feel Tambling puts him self under the same pressure.

Time to start looking at his stats.. :o

The good thing about Schulz at Port Adelaide is that even if he isn't getting a lot of the footy, he's still tackling and chasing. For a key forward, that's good to see.

Have to agree, now I'm afraid it's time to do the same with Bling, I think he may well be another swap we could make that will work out well for Bling and for the Tiges, if we pick up some players like Farmer and Nason.
