Lance in career best shape based on this morning's time trial results. I'm thrilled that he is doing the work to get back on track. Knocked 19 seconds of his result before Xmas so obviously has been making sure he kept the Xmas celebrations to a minimum.
Well done Lance!

There can be no doubting the fitness of Carlton's Lance Whitnall, after the forward so often dubbed 'Big Red' ran his fastest time-trial in six years on Wednesday.
Whitnall, who was the subject of constant innuendo about his future during the trade period after a modest 2004 season, impressed on-lookers by completing a 3.2-kilometre run around Carlton's Princes Park in 12 minutes, eight seconds.
It comfortably bettered his previous personal best of 12:27 - set during the 1998 pre-season. That year he finished second in Carlton's best-and-fairest award and was the club's leading goal kicker.
The 25-year-old has battled fitness and weight problems in recent years but made a statement by running the circuit in 12:32 before the Blues' Christmas break. And heading into his ninth season, Whitnall bettered it again when Carlton had its first session for 2005.
Whitnall finished ahead of senior players Nick Stevens - who reportedly pulled back in the final stages of the run - David Teague, Luke Livingston and Brendan Fevola (13:10), who finished last in both runs.
Meanwhile, former West Coast Eagles midfielder Callum Chambers continues to make a good impression at his new home, after winning the time-trial for the second time.
It is believed Chambers' pre-Christmas time of 10:15 was the fastest ever recorded by a Carlton player. On Wednesday his time was 10:17.
"He was sensational, and we always knew he was a great runner. But we've got to be very, very careful - it's not football Olympics, you've still got to find the football," Carlton coach Denis Pagan said of Chambers afterwards.
Exciting talent Andrew Walker (10:35) placed second in Wednesday morning's run and also beat his pre-Christmas time. Jordan Bannister (10:42) came in third, while Jarrad Waite (10:48) and new recruit Jordan Russell (10:55) rounded out the top five.
Ian Prendergast, who finished second in the December run, pulled out on Wednesday after feeling calf soreness at the beginning of the exercise.
"He's a little bit sore in the calf and he's a sub-11 minute runner around the park here, so we haven't got any issues with that. He's just a little bit sore," Pagan said.
With six weeks left until the pre-season competition begins, Pagan said he was pleased with the fitness of his playing group.
"We were pretty advanced before we went away. The next week will be spent getting back into full swing again and it will give us an opportunity to see where all the guys are," he said.
"Just a quick look at the times showed they were very comparable to before Christmas. They'll get weighed and get skin-fold measurements and we'll step it up. We'll use the balls tomorrow again and get back into it."
Adrian Deluca (foot), Troy Longmuir (groin) and Brad Fisher (knee) did not complete either time-trial.
