...we aren't getting too ahead of ourselves after the win last week. granted it was a fantastic win, but theres still a long way to go before we are back to being the force we once were.

the way i see it, everything went right for us against melbourne. if you'd asked me what carlton had to do to beat melbourne, the key points would have been as follows:

-fev to kick a bag: CHECK
-another forward to step up: waite kicked a few and provide and alternate target to fev, CHECK
-a few good, yet underperforming players(as far as last year goes) to step up: scotland, lappin CHECK
- one out the box from a few youngsters: simpson, murphy CHECK
-defence to hold tight: livo was surprising good CHECK
-melbourne to play like the girls blouses we know they can be: CHECK

still plenty of room for improvement for the blue boys but the first game made me proud of how they responded. all i can say is DON'T F*$# ALL THE HARD WORK fellas.

I dont think anyone is getting ahead of themselves. Maybe, just maybe the boys are ready to play like men.

Carlton really should have one by seven goals last week. Waite, was good but kicked badly. Betts missed a few chances too. Fev will be better for the run. The younger brigade, of Carrazzo, T-Bird, Livo, 1AW, Deluca, etc, are ready to play an exciting brand of crash and bash, footy. Plenty of chip and chase. The inclusion of Murphy, is just a big bonus!

I think we should give credit where it is due. But you are right about the Dee's. More questions than answers about them. They seem to be a bunch of front runners. Not many blokes in that side like the tough stuff! Thats why it was great to see our boys out muscle and bash them with tough footy.

I hope we play like men again tonight.

I'm not going to be to worried if we lose tonight, as long as it isn't a bashing, but if we can play four quarters and do most things right.... I'll be satisfied win, lose or draw.
