Google Earth

I'm a bit of a Stadium buff, particularly baseball and the older style football stadiums. Having just been playing around on Google Earth for the past day or so (work ... forget that) I thought it would be a good idea to do a virtual Google Earth tour of football stadiums.

If you use, or have used the site, have a look for your stadium and post the co-ordinates.

The Manchester one was taken a while ago so there is no COMS, but there some good views of:

- Maine Rd (when it was still standing :() at 53 27'03.83" N, 2 14'07.06" W
- Old Trafford (football) at 53 27'47.02" N, 2 17'29.43 W (it looks like it was falling down even then)
- Old Trafford (cricket) just down the road at 53 27'23.16 N, 2 17'12.96" W

I look forward to seeing some of the others (I could look myself but I should do some work today. Also if anyone can remember the two Scottish stadiums that are literally next door to each other (is it the Dundee sides?).

You can actually see where i used to live on those Coords as well... The back of the South Stand was my back wall...

Nice roof protecting the away supporters from the elements. (I actually like Fratton Park, a good old fashioned feel to it)

With 'Pacamacs' avaliable what is the point of the roof... I do know what you mean and it is not just Away fans.. sitting in the Lower tier of South Stand on a wet day is also likely to get you a bit wet...

There used to be images with CoMS well under construction, but for some reason they recently changed half of Manchester's images to older imaging that only sees the bulldozing stage of construction.

Need help in locating City Of Manchester Stadium and Emirates Stadium, Ashburton Grove.

The Grove is 500 yards east from Highbury's North Bank.

It's fairly easy to find. ;)
