i know this might get closed as people have already talked about it, but i just wanna know if anyone has heard there to be any particular reason why Carlton didnt take Goose with our last pick? he was training with us, maybe the coachs didnt think he was getting any better or something??

just wondering if someone knows?

maybe Brisbane did us a massive favour

Because we rated Kerr higher and preferred to have him on the list rather than Maguire.

Or perhaps he thought or was tipped off that someone would take Kerr if we did not. And so what if he he did think he would be available in the PSD or rookie drafts, most did and he cant possibly know what everyone is going to do. Thats the risk you take.

If we were looking to draft Goose we would have done so with our 3rd pick seeing we did not have a PSD pick. Our first pick in Rookie Draft is pick 15 so there is no way a club wanting a player would risk him getting through the PSD and then to pick 15 in RD. Hawthorn also did a medical test and then passed on him with their many late ND picks. So all this talk of Brisbane jumping us is pure Big Footy BS

If Carlton had of delisted one of the above players, they would of been able to take mcguire with pick 75.

I think you've nailed it Sound. Carlton obviously didn't rate Goose highly enough after watching him train to delist either of these players - I can understand Fisher & O'hailpin to some extent, but Wiggins and Johnson?

They must have thought his body was not up to it - I hope they've made the right decision.

Not really that fussed that the Brisbane Retreads picked him up. He's a 191cm defender who's a bit slow and not going to get any better. He's too slow to play small, and really not big enough to play on the big AFL forwards. Davies is actually the same height as Maguire, and will be a MUCH better investment for the future. Voss is currently in an ego-driven out of control top-up recruiting frenzie - they could be in for an almighty crash soon because of it. Their list is over-loaded with list-cloggers on 2-3 year contracts.
