Was not a fan of episode 2

Jerome overdoing the whole fake joker schtick

How bad are gcpd if 3 guys can basically kill an entire precinct and suffer zero damage.

Seems like they lost their way a bit after a strong episode 1

I thought it was good. At least the story was focused, and made Jim Gordon useful.

The problem with Gotham has always been that it meanders all over the place, pointlessly throwing in characters from Batman lore just for the sake of it.

If they keep stripping down the cast, maybe discard Batman continuity to introduce some tension and uncertainty it might actually turn into a good show.

They can start by killing off that ****ing annoying Riddler bloke.

They can start by killing off that ******* annoying Riddler bloke.
The problem is that he's stagnating. I quite enjoy the character and the actor, especially in Season One when he was being a menace at the crime scenes. They should have had one of the goonies burst into a empty room and have him kill them in a gratuitous manner rather than waste their time on the bloody annoying woman he's after.

I thought the Riddler character sucked in what I saw of season 1. Lines were terrible and his arc with that receptionist chick was pointless and made no sense. He just seemed to be floating around for the sake of it.

Teasing future Batman villains is nice for the fanboys, but it really hamstrings your writing to fill your show with characters who essentially have 10-15 seasons' worth of plot armour.

Would personally rather they chuck them all out, and stick with characters like Fish Mooney who the writers can actually do something with. Just make it a crime show set in Gotham, rather than a protracted trailer for the Batman show everyone would rather be watching.

Fish Mooney was cheesy as ****. Glad the Penguin offed her.

One can assume that Ed will come into his own as the Riddler over the next few seasons. I'm hoping that by the end of this season the arc with the Kringle woman (which is very tedious, I agree) ends with her trapped in a maze of puzzles designed to test her, see if she is worthy for him.

People will continue to treat him like shit, his ego will continue to grow, as will his insanity.

I didn't watch the first season religiously, but I'd have said characters like the Penguin are way cheesier.

Cheesy was perhaps the wrong way to put it. I thought Fish overacted the part and, by and large, felt expendable. That whole plot with her in the Doll Maker's place was such a waste of time. Penguin by his very nature is eccentric and thought Robin Lord Taylor was easily the star of Season One.

I blame the problems with Fish Mooney on the writing and plotting of the series more than the character or the actress. If they weren't so preoccupied with pushing her aside into stupid and/or irrelevant stories to make room for the Batman villains, Jada Pinkett-Smith could have easily anchored the season as an antagonist.

The actor who plays Penguin is great, but we all know he's still around when Batman comes on the scene. Watching his progression through the underworld is a bit boring and inevitable. Not to mention contrived - I remember facepalming when Maroni promoted the new dishpig to manager of his restaurant.

That said, there's promise there. Last season was massively inconsistent, veering from cheesy fun to unwatchable dross. First two episodes at least looks like it might be finding a bit of a groove. It's never going to be a great show, but if it keeps this up I might become a regular viewer.

Pinkett Smith's problem was she was always over acting like she was doing a dramatic stage performance and trying to do everything over the top maybe to make up for the boring character

Looks like they're channeling Heath Ledger with Jerome talking into the camera at the end, still an interesting show in where it's going to head next.

I'm not surprised *that* happened...

I mean, they called the episode the 'Last Laugh'. He isn't confirmed future Joker. May just have been an Easter Egg all along. The actor did a fantastic job with the death scene especially I thought. If they do bring in the Joker eventually they should use the same actor (heavily make up'd so they can't be sure it is him) and never reveal how he came back etc. Would keep the guy mysterious, which he needs to be.

I don't know if they ever will use the Joker to be honest, it's pretty much cannon that the joker exists because of Batman and since I doubt we ever see Batman on this until the very end if ever we won't see the Joker. I'm kinda glad they killed him as his 'act' was getting tiring very quick and I have a theory that people who guest star on these shows when they have another show on going are never going to last long

I can't remember exactly but didn't Jim move to Gotham from elsewhere why does Galvin have such a vendetta against him ( talking about breaking him down so there is nothing left) when his vendetta is against the people who wronged his family, surely Barb can't have gotten to him that quickly.

The problem with this show and it will always be the problem is that they can't kill anyone involved in the greater Batman story so basically every main character so even when they try and create suspense with Bruce & Alfred you know nothing will happen.

Lastly everyone gives all the credit to Galvin for the worst acting job ever and stabbing a guy what about Jim who went in solo shot all the guards with Alfred and did the hard work so the weird rich guy can take the credit.

Yeah I agree, but I hope at certain stages they go away from canon and create their own stories. I mean, they've killed Maroni before he's had a chance to disfigure Harvey Dent so it shows they are willing to mix things up a bit.

This seems to be an 'elseworlds' version of the Gotham story.

Didn't like how they killed off Jerome or Maroni for that matter.

I liked it and it I mean Barbara's body in that outfit. hahaha

Overall not bad had a feeling he would be the joker it was done pretty well if not a bit too obvious with the nods.

I wonder which DC character Theo Galavan really is. I was thinking Ras Al Ghul but too obvious and they just had him on arrow.

He's not the joker right, wasn't that his dad's message that he will leave a legacy of chaos and death meaning he will inspire the real joker.

Different universe to arrow but he could be ra's or he is this seasons made up guy so they have someone to kill in the end, I think the computer in the bat cave will hold the answers.

Oops left out the "not". I didnt think he would end up the being the joker. Joker doesnt gave a back story.

As for Ras, different universe on screen but DC has strong input into which characters are used in all the shows.

Which is the worst thing DC do, who cares if you show for example Harley on Arrow it's not going to make people not see suicide squad
