Didn't get the feeling that Galavan hated Gordon. Just using him.

I think it was episode 3 he said to Barbara somethign along the lines of building Gordon up and then taking everything from him

Alfred - " Oh i forgot to tell you , Miss silver-cloud asked if you'd like to meet for dinner tonight.."
Bruce - ".....Silvercloud ??....."
Alfred - ".....( BANG ) "

They should really write more intensive training into Bruce's story, that he had a private karate instructor from the age of 4 for example, something that would explain how he became such a warrior.

Apart from that I am enjoying this show, it's much more grown up than Arrow, which was annoying me with it's soap opera elements.

Having Bruce training before his parents died would be dumb. I still think its dumb doing it now in the show but they need to do something with Bruce to show a transformation. If anything most of the time Bruce feels shoehorned into a show about Gordon and future Gotham criminals.

I think the best evolution of Bruce Wayne ive seen was in the Zero Year comic arc where the first 5 pages or so were a flashback of him training with some different group both good and bad people learning new skills when he is in his early 20's but that wouldnt work in the show. the 2nd half of Zero Year was also one of the best E. Nygma stories.

But Bruce is traditionally a rather normal kid who does have some detective skills but no combat skills, until he walks away from his life and discovers himself when training with whoever.

Even in the animated series they show him learning escape artistry from a young age. Something like that would fit in well in this show.

He was in his late teens or early 20's when he was learning that from the great Zatara, and falling in love with Zatana. He was also using a fake name.

Yes I think we should see something like that soon. We saw the bomb-making, which was sort of from a similar skill set.

Complete opposite of everyone else in this thread.
There's no accounting for taste, I guess. Me, I don't like gloomy, cliche-ridden, overwritten messes.

What exactly are you expecting from it?
Decent writing, interesting characterisation, a consistent tone. One out of three would be fine - The Flash gets by on 1 or 2 most of the time.

If a superhero show is going to take itself as seriously as Gotham usually does, then it needs to be a hell of a lot better than it actually is. It's a shame, it's shown glimpses of being watchable from time to time.

I think you are overrating how seriously the show takes itself.

Sometimes it doesn't take itself seriously. Sometimes it absolutely does. The attempts to build serious and gritty arcs for characters like Gordon are cringeworthily inept. One minute it'll be silly, next minute you're back in some boring, gloomy, meandering dramatic story. Again, inconsistent tone.

I'm all for mildly silly shows that have fun and don't take themselves too seriously, but that's not Gotham. It's just badly made TV.

another good ep.

God damn Tabitha is hot.

Bullock "thats above my paygrade and below my sense of wonder" lol

Ed's transformation has been compelling.

Show is firing on pretty much all cylinders at the moment.
